The first thing that hit me was the smell. Not sure if someone had been smoking in the apartment previous to us arriving but the cleaner had used copious quantities of pungent air fresher to hide the stale unpleasant smell. The overall location is excellent but the apartment is on busy main road so its noisy, especially if you open the windows, which we needed to because of the smell. That said we all slept pretty well, and the beds, although on the small side, were comfortable. In general though the place definitely needs maintenance and redecoration throughout. The armchair has a dirty big stain on it, the sofas are covered in cheap old velour and the cushions start to slide off when you sit on it. The kitchen cupboards have definitely seen better days and are heavily marked. The pictures on Airbnb offer an incredibly flattering version of what's really there. They don't lie but they definitely deceive. All in all though it's is not bad value for money. This is Paris after all!!
