The house is situatied 20 min outside Lucca on a hill. Old olive tree garden surrounds the house, the view amazing. The owner Maurizio is very helpful and responds super fast. A very nice man! The house is great in the summer probably but not in the winter times. Freezing cold upstairs even with 22celsius thermostat, downstaisr the temperature was ok when we found out how to adjust the thermostat. In terms of cleanliness the house was a soso. Everything is old, the horse blankets in the bedrooms, the linens, pillows, mattrasses. The bathroom was up to standards 100 years ago. Two people cannot shower after each other- cold water is the result. Mold in the shower tub. We tried to clean as much as possible,. The kitchen is overstocked with pots but lacks a citrus press and a pasta tongue. The bread knife was not sharp. All the wooden utensils are old and used and better suited for the fire place.

If you want to experience this beautiful region of Italy from an authentic Tuscan family home, in a peaceful relaxed setting, Nonno Gino's Podere , its Art Nouveau style and timeless charm may work it's magic for you, as it did for us. We cook Vegan and self catered multiple meals during our stay. The house has a home cook's kitchen, very well equipped to create meals using fabulous local produce. We enjoyed active days; Lucca: the wall walks, the Botanical Gardens, the Aqueduct Nottolini. The Cinque Terre, seaside, canyon exploring, returning daily to aperitivi, wine, al fresco dining lit by glorious sunsets, which kept the treats coming until the very end of the day. Maurizio was a helpful, generous and considerate host. He met us on arrival to guide us to the house, and his recommendations enabled us to have a very special evening at a restaurant we would never have found ourselves. Maurizio was easily contactable and genuinely willing to share his valuable local knowledge.

Tolles Haus und toller Vermieter. Es handelt sich um ein altes Haus, das mit Gespür renoviert wurde. Kein Schnickschnack, aber alles sehr authentisch. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Lage ist fantastisch.

Ein schönes Haus in toller Lage auf dem Berg, super Blick ins Tal und auch an heissen Tagen wehte abends ein laues Lüftchen, so dass man auf der Terrasse wunderbar sitzen konnte. Maurizio war ein sehr zuvorkommender Gastgeber, der auf alle Fragen schnell reagierte, uns sehr gute Empfehlungen für Restaurants in der Nähe gab und sogar eine Möglichkeit organisierte, Olivenöl von einem Anbauer in der Umgebung zu kaufen. Wir danken ihm sehr für seine Gastfreundschaft!

We stayed for 2 weeks in Maurizio’s house; with our 2 children of 3 and 1,5 years old. We had a wonderfull time; the house stays cool Suriname hot temperaturen (35 degees) because of the Hills. We went a lot of times to Lucca and loved it (with the Car 20 min); also went a few times to the beach (35 min) and visited Pisa, villages in the mountains,.. The house is big and strong and had a lot of character; the garden is great as well! The 3 bedrooms were great and you have a lot of cooking stuff in the kitchen. For us it was perfect! Maurizio can give a lot of good advice about the area and Nice restaurants in Lucca; thank you for everything!
