The Joy cottage was charming, quaint, and well-appointed. The living room is cozy and comfortable for lounging, and though the kitchen was small it had most everything we needed to cook meals for 2. The cottage sits atop a wooded hill and felt very private even with two other vacation homes nearby. The driveway is steep and unpaved, so we were glad we had our SUV. The cottage is about 20 minutes on winding roads from Clayton - close enough to go to town as needed, and far enough away to feel like we were truly in the country. The property is gorgeous, from the vineyard and meadow to the bonfire and cookout gathering spots. It was the perfect place to ring in a quiet New Year!
We enjoyed a relaxing few days at the Joy House! This property is beautiful and in great condition. The hosts were responsive when we had a quick question, and gave great directions for check in! The land is beautiful and we loved walking around the property. Such a relaxing and inviting home!
When searching online for a place to stay I came across the Joy House and once I saw the pics of the downstairs bedroom and the fact they have the same Anthropologie bed as mine - I knew it was meant to be! Very upscale furnishing - the only downfall was I did want to soak in that amazing tub but could never seem to get the water hot enough. However, if you are looking for a getaway I would still recommend this charming place.
Everything about the rental is perfect. Location and setting is incredible. The house is beautifully done and very comfortable.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful time on this property. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds and the privacy offered by the natural surroundings. The fixtures and appliances inside the home were pristine and lovely.

As a family that sent their kids to YMCA Camp High Harbour on Lake Burton for many years, Clayton, GA became a summer staple where we would visit. Many years later, we decided to return to the lake for a nostalgic trip down memory lane and while enjoying a fabulous Sunday Brunch at "The Red Barn at Tiger Mountain Vineyards" we stumbled upon a newly listed vineyard for sale. Within a few months time, my family acquired "The Vineyards at Persimmon Creek" and re-named it "Victory Ranch" and "The Cottages at Victory Ranch." Unfortunately, the vines had died due to a lack of care and some harsh winters, and with it, the vineyard, tasting room and bottling center were no longer. However, the legacy remained.. My family and dear friends of ours have enjoyed "The Cottages at Victory Ranch" for many years. We recently held my wedding in the center of the Valley because this land has become so special to our family. It has been a tranquil place for healing, relaxation and contemplative silence. Whether its listening to the low hum of the creek or watching butterflies dance in the garden, this land has made its home in our hearts and it is our joy to share it with you. We pray that you know you are so WELCOMED here! May you enjoy all that "The Cottages at Victory Ranch" have to offer.
