VICARAGE COTTAGE is a luxury one bedroom cottage privately set in the tranquil, landscaped gardens of The Old Vicarage, a lovely Victorian house. The character property, with its own cottage garden, has original features and is comfortably furnished with country antiques, offering heavenly views across excellent walking country. The half-timbered cottage is built on the site of a Norman castle. It has old beams and a stone inglenook fireplace with a working Victorian coal-fired range (coal is not supplied). Downstairs there is a spacious, well-equipped farmhouse style kitchen, with large dining table and comfortable sitting room. Upstairs is second sitting room, the bedroom with a comfortable Victorian half-tester (4 poster) bed and a stylish bathroom with bath and shower over.

We had a great 10 day stay over Christmas and New Year. The cottage was perfect for our stay and had everything we needed and wanted. Great views over the fields and hills. John and Paul were brilliant hosts, welcoming and thoughtful. Thank you for the personal touches on our arrival. We hope to be able to return again in the near future!
We had a lovely week-long stay . The cottage is beautifully restored and decorated, you can really tell how much care and attention has been put into it. We did all 3 walks in the guide provided, the instructions very easy to follow and yielded stunning views. John & Paul were fantastic hosts, check-in/out was easy and they made us feel very welcome

Norton is a small village set in the rolling Radnorshire Hills on the border between Powys and Herefordshire. It is a short drive or pleasant hour long stroll from Presteigne, the ancient county town of Radnorshire. Presteigne has shops, pubs and restaurants, a famous Arts Festival and the fascinating Judge's Lodging Museum. The cottage is an excellent base for walking (it is close to Offa's Dyke National Path), driving through the lovely Marches countryside and visits to nearby National Trust properties and gardens open to the public.
To enjoy the area to its maximum you will need a car. Public transport is limited. There is a railway station at Knighton (4 miles away) on the Heart of Wales line.

We look forward to welcoming you to this relatively unknown but lovely part of the border region between England & Wales.
