Fern Cottage is wonderful. From start to finish you couldn't fault it. Every detail taken care of, we didn't have to want for anything. Brassington is a beautiful village and has two pubs, and our favourite was The Olde Gate Inn which is directly opposite the cottage What more could you wish for! Definitely thinking about booking again for next year.

The house is great - really good quality kitchen and decor. The pizza oven was a bonus. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable - would recommend. Thanks James for a lovely stay.

We had a fantastic time in James’s beautiful home. He was there to meet us at check in and give us more information about the house and the local area. It was a great base to explore the Peak District and the house was everything we hoped for and more!

Great family Easter get together at Fern Cottage, games, walks, cooking, drinking and all! James was an extremely friendly host, full of information of the local area and very responsive. We loved the cottage, extremely clean and it had everything we needed, thanks for the small touches too:) The garden was just perfect and we enjoyed a coffee in the sunshine. Walked from the cottage, enjoyed walks around Carsington Water, visited Alton Towers & Ashbourne. An afternoon activity of Alpaca trekking was good fun for all the mini adults too. We ate out at The Old Dog in Thorpe which was busy. The Old Gate Inn in Brassington served a delicious Easter Sunday Lunch. Everyone had a fabulous time and were reluctant to leave! Hopefully we will be back in the future.

Had four nights at Fern Cottage with family. Beautiful home and great location to explore the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. Really enjoyed The Old Gate pub which was just across the road. James was very communicative at all times. Will definitely return.
