Nao was very responsive and even came to help us out late at night when the washing machine malfunctioned. Beautiful outdoor private onsen too!

Do not hesitate to book this place. Exceptional. Seriously. Everything from the Japanese tea on Check in through to the kimono waiting for you in your room and the origami crane on your bed through to the beautiful traditional onsen followed by the delicious breakfast... the whole show. Proper nice doonas/duve, pillows, greet tea and coffee in the dining room with tatamie mats and a nice courtyard to switch your phone off and stare at. Certainly the highlight of all the places we have stayed in Japan so far. This place has nailed the balance of traditional Japanese styling and hospitality with integrity and quality without all the wank and plastic glitz of the West at a very reasonable price. My daughter and I would return here in a hearatbeat.

Fantastic spot to stay in Takyama. Our room was perfect, the lounge was a great place to relax, and the onsen was an amazing experience. Good location to walk to both the old town and the folk village. I would definitely stay here again.

A lovely place to stay few a few relaxing days - the private onsen was visited every day we were there!
