Old and a bit smelly, place had not been cleaned properly. Need redecorating and maybe a proper shower.
Lovely quirky place in perfect location for doorstep walking and also to drive to other locations to cycle and walk. Good communication with host when needed. Had a lovely time.
Overwhelming smell of damp. Not very clean , pet hairs, dirty rugs. Had to wash crockery etc before use. Bought new knives due to bendy, cheap cutlery. Chipped glasses. Kitchen not well equipped. Two people in the kitchen is one too many.Impossible to get shower temperature correct. Fausty smelling bed linen. No mattress/pillow protectors. Very thin Curtains let light in from the street light outside. No kindling/ fire lighters supplied as stated & we didn't find any 'locally ' . Electric fire downstairs not working, no fan heater upstairs as stated. We were 4 adults and were constantly squeezing around each other. A cold damp week in a house that is very dated and needs a lot of t.l.c. Wasn't sorry to leave.
Great accomodations and incredible value for money. Would recommend
Although in a Great location, the cottage seemed like it had not been cleaned when we arrived. Crumbs throughout kitchen and tables and mud on the floors. We spent 1 hour cleaning when we arrived just to be comfortable. Washed all plates and cutlery before using, as was not clean. Shower temperature could not be controlled, either burning hot or freezing cold. Followed all instructions, but still no good. Utility room was filthy and had a very damp smell to it. All carpets were covered in dog hair, from previous visitors. The television could have been in a better position, but was a bonus to have Netflix. Local pub was lovely, with great views! Lots of great trails for walking and cycling and only a short distance from the Mach Loop which was perfect, especially if you’re interested in seeing low flying aircraft! Overall we had a nice stay, but the cottage was not up to hygiene standards. We hope the issues raised will be dealt with, as the cottage has huge potential.
