The Cartlodge certainly lived up to our expectations. It was the perfect base for exploring the area around Colchester, with its beautiful gardens (especially Beth Chatto's) and the amazing nature reserve, Fingringhoe Wick, where nightingales serenade you. We also found excellent places to eat: The Crown (closest); The Wooden Fender (not far away); The Lion Brasserie and (for a treat) The Talbooth. Tracy was the perfect host, and has created a very peaceful apartment, outstanding for being so well thought-out. It was completely free of any niggles - there were well-placed plug sockets, convenient side-tables, excellent shower and a well equipped kitchen, for example. Being able to charge our electric car on site was crucial to our visit and that worked out perfectly. We would definitely return if we came back to the area another time. Thank you Tracy and Guy!

Beautiful setting, very relaxing and perfect place for us to unwind. We booked four nights at the Cartlodge and it provided everything we could have wanted. Very comfortable and well thought out accommodation allowed us to feel 'at home' almost immediately. Tracy gave us lots of useful information on walks and dining out in the local area and was contactable if needed but not intrusive.

Had a very comfortable and relaxed stay at Tracy's beautiful apartment. It was a great location for us & is a very clean and well appointed apartment. Tracy was very responsive, helpful and amenable. We would highly recommend and would love to stay again if we are in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at Tracy’s place very much. It was beautifully presented and had everything that we needed for our stay, including little extra details like providing card games, which was much appreciated. The bed was super comfy and the shower a lovely pressure, two of the main things we look for in a B&B. The views are truly beautiful and the terrace outside was a lovely place to sit and drink some pimms :) The apartment is close to the main house, but we didn’t feel overlooked, and our privacy was respected throughout our stay. Lots of good walks in the area and even a vineyard within walking distance, which was very handy! It really is a beautiful apartment in a lovely location, don’t hesitate to book it if you are looking for a break away. Thank you for having us Tracy.

Could not recommend it enough! The lodge was beautiful, it was clean, well furnished, it had everything you could need and more. The location was lovely, it was really peaceful and so easy to get everywhere. Tracy was wonderful, she checked in to make sure everything was okay and we were having a good time. Truly a lovely place, brilliant getaway. 10/10
