Second time staying here, the cabin has changed since we last stayed, not as cosy, very plain, didn’t have the little touches that was there last time that made the stay more special. The site was a building site which we wasn’t aware of so again didn’t feel as nice. Cabin was cold on arrival, had to request another heater (hosts was helpful with this) lamp and under the bed had not been cleaned for quite a while, cobwebs and dusty. Paid £40 more this time and probably wouldn’t return, not sure if owners have changed but didn’t enjoy it as much this time.

We had a lovely stay in the Chestnut cabin for a little weekend away. What a perfect location by the riverside with stunning views. We had everything we needed in our little cabin including a heater to keep warm and a TV for the evenings. Although the toilet block is seperate it's just a short walk away and it has clean toilet and shower facilities. Communication was fantastic and arrival was easy. Our lovely hosts ensured we had everything needed. We had dinner onsite the first night at the Bosun's restaurant and it was superb! We then got a taxi to York for the day on the Saturday and it was only a 10 minute journey. Lovely little food cabin onsite that did a great breakfast roll. We can't wait to return and try one of the Shepherds Huts! Thanks so much for a wonderful weekend!

Although this cabin is no doubt a beautiful place to stay in season, during the winter months, it was a struggle. The shower block and toilet is a few minutes walk and at night time and in bad weather, can feel lik a missioen. Also, the facilities in the shower block, weren't ideal either, not well stocked with loo roll and lights on a timer which went off very quickly leaving you mid shower or mid toilet and having to go out to trigger the sensor. The Cabin itself, whilst lovely, felt much smaller than it appeared on the pictures. It could also have helped if there was a bottle of water and milk in the fridge to go with the tea/coffee facilities. I would stay somewhere like this happily normally and this was booked as a romantic weekend. We did have a nice time there but felt that the price was way too high for the experience. I communicated since leaving with Kerrie about these issues and received a warm response so I appreciate Kerrie taking on board the feedback.
