Our 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home sits on the water's edge of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge - only a few steps to the beautiful sand of Wells beach. We have a private dock for swimming, fishing & kayaking (4 kayaks provided) on the Webhannet River. We have a deck, patio and firepit all overlooking the water & beautiful sunset views. Our home was extensively renovated in 2010 with a great room with ocean views, multiple flat screen tvs, great wifi & a wall of windows overlooking the water. Our home has a great room addition with a cathedral ceiling, ocean-view, wall of windows overlooking the tidal river, 4 skylights, recessed lighting, abundant natural light, ceiling fans in every room, and comfortable seating for all. We have 3 bedrooms, each with a private en suite bath and a guest half bath. All bedrooms have heat pump mini-split or window A/C units, closets, and updated bathrooms. The master bedroom has a flat screen tv and views of the salt marsh. Additionally, there is an outdoor enclosed shower with hot and cold water. The renovated kitchen with granite counter top has plenty of work space, and is fully equipped with all stainless appliances including gas stove, dishwasher, disposal, full size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and a lobster pot. The kitchen/dining area has a dining table for 6 with wonderful views and access to the deck with marsh views. There is also a full size, stackable washer and dryer for your usage. Lastly, the home recently went solar and added heat pump mini-splits in the great living room, kitchen and master bedroom, so your vacation will be sustainable too! As the house is located right on the water, we have a deck off the dining area, two stone patios (one with a fire pit and one with an Alfresco dining area for 6), Adirondack chairs for relaxing, 4 kayaks and lifejackets for exploring, gas grill with utensils for BBQs, and a wonderful yard with lovely landscaping attracting many butterflies and pollinators. As we are located in one of the prime birdwatching areas of the East Coast, we often see herons, egrets, ducks, pipers, the occasional eagle, and many migratory birds.

Sunset Boulevard has the most amazing view of sunsets over the marsh! It is also a five minute walk to the beach. The kayaks, the fire pit, the deck and the great room made the experience extra special. The house is roomy and guests have privacy because of the three ensuite bathrooms . Barry and Kathy greeted us warmly and were only a text away when needed. After check out, Barry found a charging cable we left behind and arranged to get it back to us. Overall this home exceeded our expectations and provided our family with wonderful vacation memories!
Barry and Kathee were wonderful hosts. They were just a phone call or a text away. They made us feel right at home. The neighbors were also very nice. The house is beautiful. Walking in the front door you are greeted with breathtaking views of the marsh. The entire back wall of the living room is all windows. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook for the week. The beds were all comfortable and bathrooms were clean. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the deck. One morning we got to watch a couple of bald eagles catching their breakfast. Very cool!! We used the kayaks, fished and swam from the dock, campfires at night. There was so much to do without ever leaving the house. The beach is a quick walk ( a couple minutes) down a dead end street. There is access by stairs or the next one down has a ramp (if you are bringing a lot with you). The arcade and beach stores are also a quick walk from the house. We had a great week and hope to return next year.
Our week at Barry and Kathee's home in Wells Beach, Maine, was one of our happiest family vacations. The house is bright and cheerful, with so many windows (and skylights) with views of the ocean and the salt marsh. We loved making fires in the fire pit, and we loved watching the sunsets on the deck each evening. The house was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and very welcoming. The great room is so beautiful. The beaches are wonderful--we loved the tidal pools and long walks at low tide. We also loved kayaking in the marsh beside the house. We highly recommend the location. Barry and Kathee are fabulous hosts!

Located on a barrier island at Wells Beach, Maine, this amazing waterfront property abuts the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Reserve - one of the only salt water marshes on the East Coast. The house is one block from the sand beaches of Wells, which includes 7 miles of beautiful sand beaches, and steps to lobster shacks, ice cream stands, and breakfast/lunch all in this classic New England coastal community. Minutes to Ogunquit, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, and all of Southern Maine's beaches and attractions.
Additionally, we are less than one mile from Hannaford grocery and everything else you may want or need on Route 1.
The neighborhood is easily walkable to the beach or around paved streets for a bite to eat or to take a stroll among this quaint beach community. Additionally, there is a free, public trolley that is a short walk away at Wells Beach.
Two cars can fit easily in the driveway, and one car can fit in front of the house in the designated parking space. Additional parking is available a few blocks away from the town of Wells for a small fee.

We've owned this home for 22 years and now live here full time (except in the summer!) allowing us to share this beautiful place with others. We have a long history of property rentals and management and all who stay here have loved all of the amenities and most have been repeat visitors.
