Colin was a great host.

The host, Colin, was very friendly and responsive and quickly handled the issues we had the first few days. The flat is very spacious and has excellent light throughout the day. It has a large bathroom and nice, modern appliances (dishwasher, laundry machine, oven). The pool is often crowded and water is dirty but still is a very nice place to relax and cool off outside. 24/7 security is very comforting. The wifi is okay but had intermittent connection issues. The aircon is crucial but unfortunately it broke twice and even when working the building power can’t handle it on a high setting. The kitchen could be more thoroughly equipped and the place needs some maintenance and upgrading.

A beautiful space that looks exactly like the photos. I accidentally got my dates mixed up and tried to check in a day early - Colin was so helpful and accommodating, that I was able to check in right away. What a blessing 🙏 I stayed for 1 month so the space definitely works for long stays - I’m coming back for another month in just a few weeks. The view is nice - you can see all the way into the harbour and mountains in the distance. Grocery store and the V&A shopping center is within a walking distance. Plenty of coffee shops nearby too. The towels get an extra mention, they are the fluffiest! A big bathroom with a full sized bathtub and a spacious shower. A well equipped kitchen with everything you need. The inverter is amazing, so you don’t have to dral with the loadshedding (power cuts in Cape Town), so wifi, Netflix and just general electricity is always at hand. The pool is in the building next door, so that’s definitely an added bonus to any stay. Thank you Colin!!

Positives: Apt was centrally located for easy freeway access, close to stores for food stock ups. Superb that it had no power outages from the ‘load shedding’. Colin was responsive due to issues/maintenance faults. Negatives: The advert does not disclose that the Apt has a “PrePaid Electricity Meter” and that the Renter has to buy/pay-for electricity, in addition to the AirBnb Rental cost. (Renter is only advised of this after booking and making payment). The wifi unit resides in another Apt in the same building, so each time it needs resetting, or when that Apt runs out of electricity, one has to contact Colin to try arrange for the Wifi to be reset. It’s not ideal, as this happened many times during our month long rental, and Colin lives about 10km away, so not something that could be quickly fixed/reset/Colin to purchase electricity and physically load it into the meter in that Apt.

The house is located in a nice, safe neighbourhood. It’s a great size for two people and not having to face load shedding was a great boon. The house had some maintenance issues, but these were quickly addressed by Colin. Perhaps would recommend some general refurbishments. Overall, had a great stay here. Thanks Colin!
