Wendy's place is special. I felt isolated, in a good way, out in the desert with wide open skies. Star gazing and walking to the Hot Springs were extraordinary experiences. Wendy is a kind and helpful person and was flexible with me in problem solving around the issues that arise by being in a camp setting in the desert.

We had a sweet stay in the remote cabin. The surroundings were pristine and off the map. A wonderful spot if you are looking to be in nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, the heat of the season ~95 during the day made the cabin unbearably hot to sleep in the first night (no ac) but the next few nights were bearable given that we left the windows open during the day for air circulation. Another thing to note is that the cabin is about a 10 minute drive down a dirt road off of the main highway. Which was fine for us but if you are looking to spend time in Taos make sure you are up for the extra driving back and forth (~20 to city). We did manage to hike to the hot springs which were incredibly beautiful and lovely to swim in…however, they were not easy to find. The trails from the back gate were unmarked and we had to duck under fences through private property.

Wendy's place is absolutely magical & charming and has everything you need to survive in the middle of desert. Night sky is beautiful lookin up from her deck, very relaxing if you sit on the chair and just rest while nice breeze touches you hair in the dark. She will do anything to make sure stay better and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Wonderful to stay in a little, bright-colored gypsy wagon with desert spreading out all around. Incredible night sky and great Adirondack chairs for tea with a good book!

My husband and I took a spur of the moment trip to Taos in early October and found Wendy's Gypsy Rose. We read comments about the long road up to the place so were prepared. It was truly worth the drive. The whole area is stunning. Gypsy Rose is small and very comfortably decorated. The queen sized bed is amazingly comfortable and while the cooking space is limited, we did fine with the stove top, toaster and small refrigerator. I mean, Taos has amazing food! Hot and cold running water in the sink is very nice. The facilities are just outside the caravan -- porta potty on one side and shower on the other with hot water. If you are not used to using outdoor facilities (we are long time tent campers), you might not be comfortable, but it wasn't a problem for us. The weather was chilly when we were there, but just turning on the electric fireplace inside for a short time heated the space well. The deck has the most amazing views of the northern New Mexico landscape and we were pleased to see a hot air balloon over the gulch. The stars are so close and the area is very quiet. Taos Valley is magical and we will return. Wendy and Karen are great hosts and communicate very quickly. We highly recommend the Gypsy Rose. It is only 10-15 minutes from downtown Taos. We hope to return soon.
