We have never been to Thorpeness before, so we didn't know what to expect. The house was stunning, old, cosy, and homely. It had games, films, books, kitchen utensils and lots of furniture. The house was 5 minutes from The Meare and the beach and a 45-minute walk across the beach to Aldeburgh. We will so be coming back to stay. Thank you.

The description on Airbnb does not match reality. We always ensure the house has parking and washing facilities. While technically the property offers both it comes with a sting in the tail…On Airbnb it states ‘Free parking on premises’ not true at all. The ‘Free on-street parking’ while yes there is free parking it’s not a dedicated space and you’re battling all the other holiday lets around you for parking. As we have a child with health issues and family members with mobility issues the parking was important and it was not made clear until the pre-departure info arrived that the parking was not dedicated and it’s not until you get here and see how small the road is that you understand how problematic it can be. Yes, they offer a washing machine but no way to dry the clothes anywhere in the property. No washing baskets or an air dryer we could use so we had to drape clothes over the radiators all over the house.

Lovely, spacious house which we found to be ideal for a week-long family holiday ranging from grandparents to one-year old baby. Thorpeness and area are lovely.
