Talena was a great host and the stay there was very comfortable and peaceful, with plenty of privacy, and I highly recommend her Airbnb in Sunsites, AZ.

Although not necessary, it would be beneficial to have an auto for your stay with us. Crane's Rest is in an exceptional birding and hiking area. We are 7 miles from Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mts where there is camping, hiking, and rock climbing as well as great birding in season. We are only 25 miles to Willcox, which is the gateway to the Chiricahua Nat Monument with its incredible 'Hoodoo' rhyolite rock formations. Willcox is also the center for 'Wings over Willcox' Birding Festival held mid-January each year. In the winter we have between 10,000 and 20,000 huge sandhill cranes from the north country in our valley, in the summer there are the large flocks of buzzards. All year there are huge raptors, ravens and songbirds. This area is a major spring/fall fly-way for migrating birds. Across the valley is Turkey Creek Forest area with hiking in the pines, great wildlife like tiny coues deer and real wild turkeys! The famous Portal Birding area is directly across the top of the Chiricahua Mts for a lovely day-trip. Within one hr drive you can experience wild west Tombstone, the artist community of Bisbee/Warren, or the border towns of Douglas and Naco. Just to the west is Railroad -obsessed Benson, with its huge murals. There you can find Walmart, Safeway, antiques, and restaurants. A few miles s. of there is the fantastically beautiful Karchner Caverns. Cochise County also has extensive vineyards and tasting rooms. There is the Willcox Wine Trail and the Wine center around Sonoita and Elgin just north of the artist and birding community of Patagonia and beautiful Patagonia Lake. We are also a 1 1/2 hr scenic highway drive to the desert city of Tucson, the home of Saguaro Nat. Monument (east & west), Desert Museum, and great music, dining, events and theater. You can also take the winding paved road up the side of Mt Lemon into the Coronado National Forest where you will find the quirky town of Summerhaven. Nearby is great hiking and some of the most beautiful views in the region.
自我介绍
My husband and I have lived in the rural community of Sunsites in Pearce, AZ for about 5 years. I am a semi-retire acupuncturist, whose current interests are art and nature. My retired husband, Larry is makes lovely beaded jewelry and attends regional craft fairs. We enjoy our guests who come from all over the world and try to share our love of Southern Arizona with all who stay here. We call our home 'Cranes Rest' because of the ov (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) dhill Cranes which fly daily overhead. They come here to the Sulphur Springs Valley to spend each winter (Oct - April) from as far away as Alaska, N. Canada and even Siberia!
