Welcome to The Inn on Creeper Way & Trail Town USA! With the Virginia Creeper Trail only a few steps from the house, the Appalachian Trail just around the corner, & 5 other nationally known trails passing through Damascus, the outdoor adventure options abound. Whether you want to bike the Creeper Trail, hike the AT, fish the many nearby rivers, stroll the streets of our quaint mountain town, or simply relax on "The Porch," you'll be able to do it all during your stay at The Inn on Creeper Way! The Inn on Creeper Way offers cozy lodging for up to 8 guests; however, as soon as you see "The Porch," you may never want to go inside! Once you are able to pull yourself away from the best porch sittin' experience you've ever had, you will find an inviting and comfortable home waiting just for you. With 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a large eat-in kitchen, and a spacious living room, you'll have everything you need and a perfect place to relax after a day of fun on the trails! The primary bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bathroom (tub/shower combo). The 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin daybed with a twin pullout trundle underneath. The 4th sleeping space is a queen sofa bed located in the living room. There is a full hall bathroom that also has a tub/shower combo. There is parking for 2-3 vehicles (depending on size) in the paved driveway. If you have more vehicles than will fit in the paved driveway, there is extra on-street public parking just around the corner within walking distance of the inn.

Mark is an absolutely wonderful host and his Airbnb was perfect! Mark was very quick to respond when I messaged and was helpful and kind. The house is everything we could’ve wanted and more! My husband, friends and I stayed in Damascus for Appalachian Trail Days and the house is within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. We loved sitting on the beautiful porch which is quite literally on the Creeper Trail. Highly highly recommend staying at Mark’s place!
We loved our stay here. It was a charming older house with modern updates. Very cozy and warm. The location, however, was the best part. We walked EVERYWHERE in town and had so many lovely encounters with others on the trail. Damascus Diner was delicious and we passed many wonderful hours on the big, comfortable porch. We would absolutely stay here again!
This place was a perfect location for those who are looking to spend some time in Damascus and would like easy access to the Virginia Creeper Trail. The trail is literally right outside the front door. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking coffee and watching cyclists go by. There are several local places to rent bikes and/or shuttle to the top of the mountain and when you finish the ride, you literally are right at your doorstep.
The location on the Virginia Creeper Trail was just perfect for us…used the trail to walk to the grocery store (small incline to climb to the parking lot) and the bicycle rentals. It’s just a short walk to the friendly downtown area and my granddaughter said some of the best chocolate chip mint ice cream ever!
The House and Damascus were great. Perfect location for a weekend Creeper Trail trip. House was right in the trail, walking distance to restaurants, and seconds away from multiple outfitters. We will definitely come back.

Damascus has been affectionately named the "Friendliest Town on the Trail" by the countless hikers that pass through its borders on the Appalachian Trail. Whether you come by foot, by bike, by motorcycle or car, there is something for everyone in Damascus. The Inn on Creeper Way is conveniently located right in the heart of Damascus and is just a short walk or ride to nearby restaurants, a local brewery and a winery, outdoor outfitters, bike rental/shuttle services, and the town park. You'll also be close to the stunning vistas at Mt. Rogers (the highest mountain in Virginia) and Grayson Highlands State Park - a 4800 acre wilderness well-known for its herd of wild ponies. For history buffs, a 20-minute drive to Abingdon will be well worth it in order to see the many buildings and homes dating back to the 1700s, not to mention the famous Barter Theater and The Martha Washington Inn and Spa. And on a more practical note, a full grocery store - Food City - is only a quick 2 minute drive down the road.
Step off the front porch of The Inn on Creeper Way and lace up your boots or hop on your bike, and you'll be getting around just fine!

We are so very fortunate to live in our favorite city in the world - Asheville, NC; we are also proud owners of The Inn on Creeper Way in our favorite small town in the world - Damascus, VA! Whether we're biking on the Virginia Creeper Trail, canoeing down the French Broad River, or enjoying the natural beauty of the NC/VA mountains while hiking, we couldn't be happier with the many outdoor adventure opportunities that Asheville and Damascus provide.
