Relax with the whole family at this peaceful and private home on the Whitetop Laurel river in Damascus, VA. The RiverHouse offers fishing, bonfires, kayaking, water tubing, tent camping, bike riding all from the backyard. The home is a short walk from town, the creeper trail and Appalachian trail. Stay and play in the backyard or explore the town of Damascus and all its charm. You will be planning your next trip before you leave! No Smoking in or around the house. Please do not remove/ move rocks around the river. This river is home to a lot of wildlife and we try to respect this as much as possible. Please do not re-arrange furniture. SLEEPING: 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home. Each bedroom has a TV. All TVs are set up for streaming only. There is a queen, full, and two twin beds. The full side bed is an ensuite with its own bathroom. Each bedroom has a closet with a luggage rack and hangers for clothes. The bedrooms have a basket in each closet with towels and washcloths for each guest. Bed linens will be provided. LIVING: This open concept home has multiple living and entertaining spaces. The house has a full size kitchen equipped with all appliances. There is an island with 4 barstools. The kitchen is located directly between the living room and back deck. The back deck features a dining area and 3 different sitting areas. The living room has an entertainment center with games (cards, Wii system, board games) and a brand new leather couch and oversized chair. The TV is set up for all streaming networks. Off from the living room is a fireplace room with a desk/workspace and a sitting area. OUTSIDE: The front porch is covered with three rocking chairs. The backyard has a fire pit by the river with tiki torches. The river is a large open beach area with sand. There will be one hammock provided. The hammock stand is down by the river and fire pit. There are corn hole boards, badminton, and hoola hoops. If you like to fish, please bring your fishing pole (these will not be provided). We do share the backyard with wild turkeys, deer, and the occasional black bear. We encourage all guests to bring all food inside at night to keep unwanted visitors away. We have a propane Grill directly off the back deck. Propane tank will be provided. All grill utensils are located inside the kitchen area. PETS: - Adult Dogs (1 year+) will be the only pets allowed. No puppies please. - Limit to 2 dogs per stay. This is non-negotiable. - Each dog will require a 80$ fee. - The second dog will be invoiced prior to check in (if applicable) - Dogs will be required to stay in a crate while unattended in the home (crates provided) - Dogs must be potty trained to go outside. Puppy pads inside are not acceptable. - Guests must clean up after their pets in the yard. Keeping the backyard free of dog waste will allow for all guests to enjoy the river. - Please keep in mind that animals quickly wear and tear on a home. Keep the dogs off all furniture at all times. PLEASE NOTE: There will be an additional cleaning fee for any dog waste that was not picked up and properly disposed of. I have Small, Medium, and XL crates stored in the laundry room for dogs to use while unattended in the home. PLEASE be respectful of the furniture and the home if you are bringing your dog(s) so I can continue to allow dogs in this home.
