Apartments ‘’Candela’’ are located in Starigrad Paklenica, a small and quiet holiday resort located between the mountain range of Velebit and the Adriatic sea. Their 2000 square meter property offers privacy and a unique insight into mediterranean culture due to its unusual combination of a beautiful private beach on one side and a mountain range on the other side. Apartment No.2 is located on the first floor. It consists of a kitchen, a dining area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchen has modern appliances and is fully equipped. The dining area is connected to the kitchen and is equipped with a table for 4 and a flat screen TV with satellite programs. The first bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, and the second bedroom has a bunk bed (2x 90x200cm) with a wardrobe. The dining area has access to a furnished balcony.

Unfortunately, description of the property is very misleading. It is definitely not designed for 4 people. There is no bunk bed in the second bed room, just a small bed so we had to request a crib for our smaller kid when we checked-in. But the rooms were so small that when we got the crib we could not open the wardrobe in the room. The apartment was not cleaned (not even once!) during our 9-days stay, the towels were not changed... The sink in the bathroom was blocked and they were not able to fix it even when requested. There was no mosquito net on the balcony door, so be prepared for lot of mosquitos in the apartment if you want to use the balcony... The host had a very arrogant style of communication, so we didn't feel welcomed from the beggining. Pros: The private beach is as described, very nice, with lot of shadows. What you cannot see on the pictures is a surrounding building which is kind of unfinished (not a very nice view).
Sehr gut ausgestattete Wohnungen in einer top Lage. Sehr ruhig und etwas abgelegen. Der Gastgeber ist sehr zuvorkommend und kümmert sich um alle Besucher. Diese Unterkunft bietet alles was man braucht, von Bar bis Stand-Up-Paddling ist alles für einen tollen Urlaub ausgerichtet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
Die Unterkunft ist super, liegt direkt am Meer, ist es einfach wunderschön hier Ferien zu machen. Mirco und seine Familie sind super Gastgeber! Wir haben die Tage sehr genossen und würden immer wieder kommen. Das Haus ist top ausgestattet und jeden Tag wird saubergemacht. Wir danken Mirco und seine nette Familie für die schöne Zeit in Starigrad!

The city of Starigrad has a rich history dating to the pre-roman era. It was built on the remains of the ancient city of Argyruntum. Numerous excavation sites tell the stories of the culture that used to live on this area. From various objects from paleolithic age found in the caves of mount Velebit, to massive city walls and unique tombstones of the Roman era, this city has a lot to offer to both the curious and the adventurous. The city of Zadar, located in the vicinity, has a vast heritage and is ideal for sightseeing, as well as a couple of other smaller towns with equally impressive heritage both cultural and architectural.
Numerous parks and places with untouched nature can be found nearby. National parks, with rich flora and fauna, and rivers with crystal clear water, river Zrmanja for example, ideal for rafting are located around cca. 15 km from the house. The spectacular mountain range of Velebit, protected by the National park ''Paklenica'' (cca.km) offers beautiful hiking, jogging and cycling trails (over 200km long), as well as numerous places for rock climbing and bungee jumping. This relatively small area has an abundance of geomorphological phenomena and forms, like ‘’Manita peć’’ and ‘’Cerovačke pećine’’. You can also ''follow in the footsteps'' of the movie ''Winnetou'' which was filmed in Paklenica. On the other side the 89 karst islands, islets and reefs of the National park Kornati, often referred to as ''nautical paradise'' can be reached with a one-day boat ride from Zadar.
