The house is located on the ourskirt of the village Siulak, which is not as busy as staying in the centre. The house is clean, there is a basic bathroom in the yard and a fancy treehouse in the garden. Getting to either Mount Kerinci or jungle trekking/Tapan road takes 1-1.5 hours of driving. Rolis and his family were extremely welcoming and we experienced Indonesian family live during Ramadan. We hiked to Lake Kaco with Rolis and his friend/guide. In the evening we had dinner at his friend's home and afterwards visited his Mandarin farm. Rolis tells a lot of the local community, cinnemon and his projects together with volunteers. Having coffee in the tree house during tropic thunderstorms was one of the real relaxing moments during our journey through Sumatra. If you are interested in traditional Indonesian way of life and like to explore the wonderful Kerinci region, this is definitely a good place to stay.

The Cinammon Homestay is located in a small Village called Siulak, right next to the Mount Kerinci. We stayed in a lovely room (also with the aroma of Cinnamon). And that's what we liked most about this place: the loving attention to details. The walls are decorated with paintings from artists all over the world, the garden filled with different plants and fruits and a tree growing through the bathroom on the outside of the house. The owner of the Cinammon Homestay is a caring man, looking after the people and the countryside of his environment, and working in many project to improve situations in his region. Although he sometimes just likes to enjoy his surrounding, he is never to shy to share his experiences and we liked his attitude a lot. So if you want to get a closer look at the area, work and nature around the Kerinci, the Cinammon Homestay is definitely a great place to get started

This listing is located a short drive from Sungai Penuh. Be advised that it takes almost 2 hours to drive from this listing to the rainforests south of Lake Kerinci, where the hike to the Blue Lake starts. The room itself is clean and has a terrace. Breakfast is served on a nice "tree house" in the backyard. The bathroom is in a wooden shed outside. The host was nice and prompt at replying to messages and organized transportation for us from Padang.

Comfortable rooms and very friendly host. Other than homestay he helped us regarding transportation in Kerinci, local knowledge, ecotourism. A very recommended place to stay in Kerinci.
