Stylishly furnished throughout, The Roost has a cosy wood burning stove for winter and sizeable garden with great views for relaxing in the summer. You can even lie in bed and look out over Titchwell RSPB reserve to the sea beyond. Or from the comfortable twin room see peaceful rolling Norfolk farmland. The well-equipped kitchen has oak worktops and a Belfast sink. The fresh, cosy sitting room is double aspect and has a wood burning stove and separate dining area. But if you prefer to eat out, the renowned Titchwell Manor and Briarfields are both just five minutes' walk from the cottage and serve excellent food. Close to The Wash estuary, Titchwell is a very popular area for bird watchers throughout the year, but especially during spring and autumn migration, and the spectacular winter geese and wader phenomenon. Conveniently close to the Victorian seaside resort of Hunstanton, as well as Brancaster beach, The Roost is a great base for exploring this beautiful part of North West Norfolk. Additional Information One well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Norfolk winder stairs are, as with older character cottages, enclosed, steep, curved and narrow. Here they are carpeted with a fixed handrail. There is an iron and ironing board.
Great Cottage, with fantastic garden. Private parking at the back. Only thing to keep in mind: The cottage is located next to the A road, with no pavement leading away in either direction. If you are a keen runner, like us, or have small children, then leaving the cottage on foot requires a certain danger awareness.
The Roost is a great place to stay to visit the surrounding Norfolk beaches. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The enclosed garden was great for our dog and great for us to enjoy too. Would definitely recommend to others looking for somewhere to base themselves for a holiday!
Absolutely lovely stay at the Roost. Cosy cottage with beautiful decor and great facilities in a fantastic location.
Titchwell village church has a rare round tower and small lead steeple. There's also an obelisk in the centre of the village, which would have been a meeting place for pilgrims.
Titchwell Manor and Briarfields are both excellent eateries in the village of Titchwell, serving everything from local seafood and fish & chips, to Sunday roasts and seasonal dishes.
Titchwell Marsh RSPB Reserve has nature trails, hides, a visitor centre and holds events throughout the year. There is also a specialist shop in the village selling binoculars and telescopes. You are also very close to Holme Dunes Nature Reserve, great for migration and rare species. The sight of the geese flying overhead in the autumn is one of the most incredible sights you will see.
Just a few minutes drive are the popular areas of Brancaster, Thornham, Hunstanton and Burnham Market, with Holkham, Wells and Sandringham just a few miles further. Titchwell is an excellent base for discovering the delights of north and west Norfolk.
