We observed the eclipse on the property and it was amazing from his location, the property is stunning!! bill was very communicative and helped with our stay! just needs a bit more items in the kitchen but very enjoyable none the less, happy we stayed here!
Location was perfect for offroading at Barnwell Mountain.; only 5 min from the park. Area was peaceful and beautiful. Pond had good fishing. The cabin was small, but nice and fit three people with no issue. Bathroom was clean and included a shower. I got confused by the driving instructions to the gate, but the host helped me navigate. Great stay and would stay here again.
Great father-son getaway!
This was exactly what we wanted! The great outdoors plus so much space to swim, canoe, fish, explore, play football, play the guitar around a campfire, grill, and relax while watching the sunset. The sleeping accommodations are exactly what anyone needs...to sleep. Fit six without any problems at all. This was a perfect fit for an outdoorsy getaway. The hosts were so friendly and even delivered fresh cookies. Cannot recommend enough.
what an amazing place. the unattached bathroom is airconditioned, which is very nice. i did not connect to wifi, because phone reception was very good for the area. the lake has big fish in it. I missed a couple huge bass, but fishing was not the primary purpose of my trip. Next time, I am setting aside more time to fish. I am not a big bird watcher, but I enjoy nature and wildlife, so I got a bird app (Merlin) identifies birds by songs and calls. The app picked up so many different birds, I cannot list them all, but I will send Robert the info. if you are a bird watcher, this sanctuary would be a great place for you. If you just need a time away from the usual busy life, this place is perfect. if you want to take your kids fishing and spend time in nature, this place will not disappoint. Highly reccomend this cabin. I think I have found my new East Texas getaway.
