We have turned our black cabin in the woods into a beautiful and modern four season escape. Our cozy 2 bedroom, 1 sleeping area loft, 2 bathroom cabin is centrally located between Arnold, CA and Bear Vally ski resort. We are at 5000 ft. elevation, 10 minutes past Big Trees state park. We've spent the past thoughtfully curating all spaces throughout the home with new modern furniture, new beddings, beds and linens, as well as high-end housewares, appliances and beautiful things we love. The main floor of our Scandinavian inspired cabin has an open concept that includes living room, dining room, updated chef's kitchen, lower bedroom with queen bed, bathroom with bath tub and laundry area with new washer and dryer. There are three large windows and a sliding door provide amazing light and view of the forest behind the house. Up the stairs, you will find the upper bedroom and the guest loft/reading nook, with a king canopy bed. We love sleeping in the open space in the loft. We have tall blackout curtains for privacy that also filters out the morning light. The 2nd floor bedroom has a queen bed and double bunk beds and a 2nd bathroom with a shower and a barn door for privacy. All adult beds have new Saatva mattresses, Parachute lux bedding, cozy duvets and pillow shams. Each bedroom has black-out honey comb shaded for those who love to sleep in and stay cozy. This place gives all the feels. We are all about details and have tons of mood lighting and dimmers to set the tone. The bathrooms all have new shower heads, amazing water pressure and plenty of hot water. However, if you have 6 people staying here, you probably should limit showers to 5-10 minutes or you might run out of hot water. The house also boasts a large deck providing the best of indoor/outdoor living and relaxation. We have an extra long table outside that can seat 10 people. Bask in the sun or enjoy your favorite book in a shady, breezy corner throughout the day. Quiet summer evenings and snowy winter nights by the beautiful wood stove in the main living room. Our favorite activities are to go for long walks in the neighborhood, relax, ski, snowboard, snowmobile, sledding down hill on our yard, hike, bike, swim in lakes and rivers. There are tons of 4 wheel driving roads if you are the 33” and up crowd. We love to grill on the deck or head downhill to Arnold or Murphys for dinner and wine tasting. You can find concerts and live music at local restaurants and wineries. The Lube Room is 1 minute drive or 10 min walk from the cabin. We have plenty of board games, and corn hole during the warmer months. We have a giant fire pit in the back yard for the winter months when there are less fire restrictions. We love being out in the snow by the fire. The outdoor space has tons of forest to explore. During the snowy months, we have a huge Christmas tree with ornaments we have collected during our trips to Norway, Sweden and Denmark at various Christmas markets. We leave it up from November until the snow melts. Its adds to all the feels. Hygge Haus is a modern and inviting space surrounded by an abundance of outdoor activities. We strive to make you feel at home. We have central heating and all bedrooms have floor fans for those hot summer nights and cozy blankets for winter relaxation. We want you to feel at home here and have spent many weekends here fixing this place up to be a zen place to decompress. We have put so much thought and love into our place and we know you'll have an amazing getaway. Dogs have been here before so please take note if you have animal allergies.
