If you’re looking for a romantic, off-grid retreat, you’ve found it in our unique hideaway on the Wirral. Lazy Bear cabin on the Wirral peninsula gives you the opportunity to live the romantic dream, surrounded by woodlands and open fields. You may sense you’re a world away from the fast pace of life, yet you’re only 20 minutes drive from Liverpool or Chester. With no wi-fi or electricity on site, guests are encouraged to switch off and spend time soaking away the evenings in the hot tub. The Lazy Bear Cabin is situated on the edge of a private lake with wild ducks and woodlands. From the woodlands, you can see the Welsh mountains across the estuary from the viewing bench. The Cabin has a large raised verandah with seating overlooking the lake and open fields. Please be aware that there are steep steps up to the Cabin, Cabin Bed, Hot tub and Showmans Wagon. THE CABIN: The cabin has an open plan lounge, bedroom and dining area with a mix of Danish influences, antiques, rustic salvage and an array of quirky fixtures and fittings. The cute little log burner pumps out masses of heat and will boil your kettle in no time at all. The huge picture window, adorned with lanterns, looks out onto the veranda and lake. As the evening draws in the cabin lights up creating something magical and almost dreamlike. THE CABIN IS OFF-GRID HEATING AND LIGHTING: There is no electricity on site. Battery operated lanterns and lights are provided in abundance. Spare, packs are provided free for charging phones or an iPad. The Cabin has a log burning stove (fire lighters and wood are provided) SLEEPING ARRANGMENTS: Nordic Cabin sleeps 2 Adults only (Max) in a Kingsize cosy box bed with top quality sprung mattress and luxury brushed cotton bedding. Beautiful views of the open countryside from the little bedroom window can be seen and appreciated. BATHROOM FACILITIES: Invigorate yourself in the wonderful galvanised shower room with plenty of hot running water, wooden sink and special toiletries. Compost toilet in a quirky chest of drawers. Towels and toiletries are all provided The shower and toilet are one minute walk from the cabin . COOKING FACILITIES: The private outdoor kitchen is right next to the cabin with gas burner and large industrial BBQ, small fridge, pizza stone, excellent quality cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery and workspace. Cooking can also be done on the open fire by the Hottub using the Kadai which comes with the full range of outdoor cooking equipment. Logs and fire lighters are provided. HOT TUB: The outdoor wood fired hot tub can be heated ready for your arrival. The hot tub is refilled with fresh water in between each guest as we do not use any chemicals. The hot tub is not to be used if pregnant or high blood pressure and should be used according to the Guidelines which can be found in the Guest User Manual. SHOWMANS WAGON: A perfect place to relax and read a book. ( care must be taken as the wagon is high off the ground and has ladder steps to enter it.) ***Please note The Wagon is only on site from 15th May-31st October weather permitting

Located on the Wirral just on the outskirts of the picture postcard village of Burton. Here you can enjoy walks in the National Trust woods or Bird Watching at the famous RSPB Burton Mere Nature Reserve. Visit Ness Botanical gardens which is especially beautiful in Spring and Summer.
If you fancy something a little more energetic we can organise bicycle hire in advance so that you can explore the Wirral way which is off road cycling the length of the Dee Estuary.
The Wirral has the only seaside resort in Cheshire, the historical coastal village Parkgate which is just 3 miles away or 16 minute cycle ride away where you have a number of very nice cafes and restaurants, not to mention the famous Ice cream and fish and chip shop, all situated on the old quay over looking the estuary towards Wales
Beaches - Yes! 25 minute drive or a 53 minutes bicycle ride to the vibrant seaside town of West kirby with many lovely cafes and restaurants
West kirby famous for its sandy beach, where at low tide you can walk out to Hilbre Island, one of the three islands at the mouth of the estuary. Take in the incredible views and amazing wildlife that call the Island home. From rare bird life to grey seals.
If you fancy getting your feet wet you can head for the Marine lake which is arguably one of the most reliable and beautiful locations for watersports (sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding) in the North West.

Cycling on the Wirral from your doorstep is an absolute must, from leisurely coastal bike rides though to slightly more challenging off-road adventures, there are lots of options to choose from. Bike Hire can be arranged in advance.
If cycling isn't for you then maybe you would like to discover the colourful culture and heritage of Liverpool’s famous waterfront, museums and galleries.
BICYCLE
If you wanted to travel by bicycle we 1 min off the national cycle route 56 and the Wirral Way and are approximately 1 mile north of national route 568.
We can assist you in hiring bicycles from Tracs who will deliver them to our door step.
BUS
5 min walk to the bus stop outside Ness Botanical Gardens. where you can catch the 487 Arrival bus runs from Liverpool to Ness Botanical Gardens between Monday and Saturday, every half an hour. On Sundays the 488 follows the same route.
The 22 bus which runs between Chester and West Kirby Monday to Saturday every hour. You can connect to the rail network at Neston which is on the Neston to Wrexham line. or take a taxi to Hooton where your on the Liverpool to Chester line and this connects to the national lines to London via Crewe.

There are plenty of places that you can visit by car and we are located not far from the local village of Neston where there is free car parking.
