You can enjoy some fine country walks directly from the doorstep or alternatively from visiting Cartmel Priory, walk through the racecourse woods or a trip to the racecourse itself. From the square, ancient streets lead through the village, each worth exploring for the variety of shops on offer. If you are shopping for a gift, or simply a memory of your visit to Cartmel, you will find a range of artisan, boutique and craft shops available. Location was easy to find despite being quite remote, the loft was a very cozy and pristine property which is just what we needed for a remote getaway.
Beautiful place to stay, however if you want the full address including the house name ask the host so you don’t get lost
Overall a very nice a peaceful loft with amazing views. A few things let us down: firstly, upon arrival the place had not been been cleaned from the previous visitors, and the host informed us she was not expecting us. After searching through various apps she managed to locate our booking and asked for us to leave for 30 minutes for her to do a “quick turnaround” (how clean it can be after thirty minutes I’m not sure). Immediately we noticed the number of dead wasps in the kitchen and bathroom. The next morning we found ten more dead wasps, with one or two emerging from behind the fridge every few minutes. We could no longer use the kitchen (which was the reason we booked). We texted the host twice and called with no answer, 2 hours later she replied telling us she was no longer in the country and that her husband would investigate. Later she told us he had indeed located a wasps nest and that pest control was on its way. The next morning slightly fewer wasps. No discount offered
