Situated in the heart of the village of Cartmel with a pub less than 50 metres away and plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes within half a mile, this beautiful property promises an unforgettable escape to guests. Sleeping six over three stunning bedrooms with an extra two guests in the romantic annexe, this charming property is an opportunity to explore the local area but also travel further afield into the spectacular Lake District, including Lake Windermere (17 miles) and Coniston Water (22 miles). And if you need a day at home, relax in the beautiful garden, looking out towards the raised beds and small trees. Leave your coats in the boot room and step into the bright and airy kitchen where shaker-style units and rustic tiles give it a farmhouse-style atmosphere. The elegant dining room with peaceful tones of white and blue is a pleasure to eat meals in; retire to the seating area after lunch and look out to the garden through the French doors. Couples can hide away in the studio-style annexe that has its own shower room as well as a cosy sitting area to curl up in. The other three bedrooms have a wonderful air of faded grandeur and will ensure you have a tranquil night’s sleep. Take the children to Lakeland Miniature Village (4 miles) where they will delight in over 100 buildings made from local Coniston slate, or head to Fell Foot Park (9.5 miles) where there’s an educational tree trail and plenty of spots for picnics. Take a ride on Coniston Water on the National Trust’s Steam Yacht Gondola (24.5 miles) or hire kayaks or canoes to experience it for yourself. Wander the ruins of Furness Abbey (24.5 miles) or Wray Castle (20 miles) to add a bit of history to your trip.
