Enchanting little cottage, with high standard of amenities. Went there to walk with my 2 dogs, to get away from life and write some poetry, it was wonderful.

We had a excellent time , there clear instructions regarding our stay . It was the perfect position for walking.and near by restaurants . We can wholly recommend the Nutshell for a visit to West Mersea as it is so close to the fabulous seafood restaurants, the cottage was welcoming and comfortable with all our needs catered for .

This is a quaintly wonky and characterful old cottage; close to the water in a lovely row of houses. Good communication with the host and instructions very clear.

The Nutshell is a unique little cottage, possibly the tiniest home we have ever stayed in! Ceriun’s communication and helpfulness was one of the best we have come across. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a local landmark it seems, residents who asked knew where we were staying as soon as we described it. The island is charming and the cottage was perfect for our wedding anniversary break. It's delightful and full of character, there were high winds while we visited but inside was quiet, warm and cosy. There is everything you need, a fully equipped kitchen, generous supplies of coffee pods, wood for the fire and full details of the local amenities. The bedroom is up a ladder staircase in case relevant. Check in/departure times need to be considered at busy times as the cleaner has childcare requirements, but Cerian is flexible whenever bookings allow. Parking is wherever you can in the road without frustrating the neighbours, all the people we met were friendly and the rowing club 20 yards away didn't mind us parking there when we asked. The courtyard garden is pleasant and secure for dogs. All communications were quick and helpful, overall a great cottage, strongly recommend.
