Emma’s property was comfortable, clean and really well equipped. We felt immediately at home. The area is really peaceful and quiet and it’s just a short walk down the lane to the seafront. I stupidly left all my toiletries at the property - both Emma (the owner) and Emily who lives on the island couldn’t be more helpful in trying to organise their safe return to me. Thanks again for a wonderful, relaxing stay.

We loved our 3 night stay at The Cabin - the property is faultless, it's so well appointed and homely. Our trip coincided with Storm Kathleen but we were happy to hang out at 'home' in between a few windswept walks. There are super comfy sofas in the lounge, a lovely big kitchen with a large dining table and a pretty, sheltered back garden. It's the oldest road in the village, a very charming location, and so quiet. We look forward to returning.

Lovely house, we really enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed and the garden was private and enclosed which was great for our dog. It would be a lovely spot to sit out when the weather is warmer too. Once parked up we didn’t need to use the car at all. We walked everywhere with ease, the location of the house is perfect for this.

Lovely little stay at The Cabin with my children. The house is very nice. It’s cosy and very well equipped. A perfect home away from home. Emma was very helpful. We loved exploring Mersea and will definitely be back!

Great couple of nights with our 2-year-old at Emma’s place on Mersea. Out of season but still a lovely vibe about the place, great sense of community with lovely pubs and fish shacks to visit. Place itself was spotless, really good spec but had the touch of being used by the owners themselves as a holiday getaway so not just an identikit Airbnb. Esp good for a toddler with lots of toys, travel cot, and booster seat all laid on. Would definitely recommend as a base for a mini break or long weekend away
