Dove cabin was everything we wanted for our girl’s getaway! Wik was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. He was quick to respond to our needs, even bringing up extra firewood when requested. The location is nearby several wonderful wineries, Montpelier and some small towns with fabulous restaurants and groceries. The property offers much to explore but the cabin itself is the star of the show! Beautifully appointed and meticulously designed…it would be difficult NOT to appreciate the craftsmanship of this cabin. The views from the porches are stunning and the fireplace added ambiance to our chilly evening. The Sonos sound system and sauna, cornhole boards, board games and amazing showers (including an outside shower) all add to the enjoyment of Dove Cabin. Don’t think twice..just book and see for yourself! We will be back for sure!

We had an incredible time at Wik's cabin in Somerset! From the moment we arrived, Wik made us feel right at home with his warm hospitality. The cabin itself was immaculate, and the surroundings were breathtaking, with picturesque views of rolling hills and a charming horse pasture. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the stocked ponds on the property. Our kids had an absolute blast fishing and were thrilled to catch bass, massive bluegill, and even large rainbow trout. It was a joy to watch them reel in their catches while we relaxed by the fireplace, enjoying the tranquility of the countryside. Wik's attention to detail was exceptional, and he provided us with a thorough tour of the property, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He was always available to answer any questions and went above and beyond to make our getaway truly memorable. Overall, our experience at Wik's cabin was nothing short of magical, and we can't wait to return for another

Our stay over spring break with four teenagers was wonderful. The boys enjoyed fishing. The girls enjoyed the sauna. Everyone enjoyed petting the yearlings and walking the trails. My husband and I enjoyed the beauty of the cabin and sitting on the porch with a glass of wine while surveying the beautiful surroundings. We brought our kayaks and paddle board to cruise the pond. We went out one day to hike White Oak and another day we went to a UVA game. Wik was an amazing host. He was very welcoming and helpful our entire stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

What a cool log cabin from the early 1800s with all the modern amenities. Beautiful setting for walks, bird-watching, etc., and a great home base for trips to Shenandoah National Park, wineries, etc. For city folks like us, we loved being in such an isolated location because wow the stars in the night sky!

we had a wonderful welcome and Wik showed us the property and hiking trails that wind in to the woods and next to the horses. the historical cabin is lovingly rebuilt from original timbers and has all the charm of yesteryear anchored around the wood burning fireplace and hearth, balanced with modern amenities like marble countertops in the bath rooms and the superb sauna. my family enjoyed sitting by the fire and taking walks around the ponds and horse trails on the farm. its close to some great vineyards and restaurants in barboursville and charlottesville but we loved the cabin so much we ended up staying at the cabin the whole time.
