Keith was a VERY responsive host, and the space was absolutely idyllic. You’re twenty minutes from everything you could want, and you have your own beach access with beautiful views from the dining room, living room, and master bedroom- what more could you ask for?! Comfy towels, comfy bed and pillows, laundry on site, bikes and paddle boards at the ready… Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great week at the beach home. Kayaking, swimming, reading, playing games, sitting around the fire watching the most beautiful sunsets. Birds and sea life in abundance. Easy check in. It’s easy access to Ellsworth and Bar harbor.

Cozy cottages with incredible views. Easy access to the water for paddle boarding and kayaking. Primary bedroom suite was spacious and airy, but needed curtains on the French doors for privacy. Other two bedrooms were very small with uncomfortable mattress, very soft. Enclosed porch off the kitchen was a perfect spot for the family to share meals and play games while enjoying the view. Living room is on the small side. It has a large sliding door that would have amazing views of the water but there are some shrubs in the way. Recommend cutting them down. Side deck off the primary was not useful. Despite a few flaws, we were very happy with our stay. Room for the dogs outside, beautiful sunsets from the Adirondacks and lots of birdwatching.

Keith's home was absolutely fantastic. The location directly on the shores of Union River Bay is amazing and being able to walk along the shore for an extended distance was a real plus. We swam, paddle boarded, fished and searched for treasures at low tide - even found a starfish and a sea urchin! The house itself is as charming and well kept as in the photos, if not more so in person. The furnishings are really top notch, especially in the primary bedroom. The grounds were also wonderful with the bocce court, the fire pit area (my younger daughter loved reading on the swing), the side yard with deck and picnic table and the shed to store our extra outdoor stuff. Keith was very responsive to any of my inquiries. We would stay again in a heart beat except after hearing about our wonderful vacation and seeing our pics, more of our extended family now want to join us and I'm not sure we'd all fit!

We loved our stay at Ocean Shade. The house is situated at the end of a private lane with lovely neighbors who live there year-round. We were so happy with the location, which is close to Acadia and the quaint town of Ellsworth. Also convenient enough to Bar Harbor for restaurants. We spent mornings hiking Acadia and afternoons at the house enjoying water activities and gorgeous sunsets. The house was comfortable and clean, well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen and nice linens and towels. Beds were comfortable. We would definitely visit again.
