We are also 10 minutes away from from USCG Elizabeth City. The Richardson Pool Glover house, an Elizabeth City Inn, is a piece of Elizabeth City history. Some history about the house: Built in 1856 it’s the largest antebellum style home in our region and 3rd largest in North Carolina. It’s size is not the only feature that stands out as it’s also been called home by the towns mayor, the doctor who discovered a missing painting of Theodosia Burr ( Aaron Burrs daughter) who went missing in a shipwreck during the war of 1812, and a wealthy merchant who was the builder of the house. Many locals know the house as being part of the Underground Railroad as well. Please note**** If you love old houses, dogs, and history this is the spot for you. If you are not okay to the quirks of an old home & accepting its beauty for what it is then it’s not for you. We are a local & national historic preservation property & keep the house according to those standards. We offer a pack and play for small guests for an additional $25 fee. We value guest comfort which is why we also have a rollaway bed for guests over 2 people. The rollaway bed is required for an additional $25 a night. No smoking, partying, & unauthorized guests.
