We so enjoyed our time spent here. The store next door, fresh eggs, a beautifully-appointed home, comfy beds and pillows, neat and clean, and then the amazing natural surroundings, were perfect for our ladies getaway to celebrate a birthday. Kris was very helpful with a recommended route to see the bridges, too. Don’t hesitate to book this home!

Kris’s place was awesome! Great space, beautiful area and quiet. We lucked into being there during her Holiday market, which was really fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Roost. Large master suite and walk in shower were helpful for son with physical limitations. Horse shoes, cornhole, hammocks, fire pit, all in a quiet country setting with lots of deer and eagle. Farm fresh eggs and sausage a must!

The Roost was the perfect place for our family to stay!! It’s nestled in a picturesque setting—exactly what you would imagine in Iowa farm country. We all admired the creative and clever decor and amenities inside and outside the house!! The owner’s suite and bathroom especially were incredibly spacious and relaxing. The fresh eggs from the chickens out back were a fun and delicious touch. Kris was an amazing host, probably the most accommodating and responsive we’ve had in all our years of traveling (and we travel a bit). I would highly recommend the Roost to any one (and families especially) looking for a cozy and relaxing stay in the country!
