What a beautiful place to stay when visiting Orkney - not far from Kirkwall & stunning clean accommodation & chilling in the hot tub after a day exploring ❤️

We loved the place! Our host left a generous welcome package of snacks, milk, and juice and local cheese. The home is very nicely furnished and the hot tub was a nice treat after a long day walking and exploring Orkney. We loved everything about our stay!

Taylor’s Rest is a gorgeous chalet, well appointed and comfortable for our two night stay. The chalet is cosy, well designed and absolutely spotless. Located outside Kirkwall it is a short drive to all amenities of the town and a bus goes past the chalet. On arrival Mike had left us essentials- milk, OJ , bread, and a host of other goodies to ensure we were fed and watered! Mike popped by to make sure everything was okay which was lovely. Overall a great host, super location and great communication from Mike. We’ll be back!!

Nice modern house with lots of nice touches, lovely bathroom with a great shower and a big private hot tub. The plot is shared with another holiday let but they are private enough from each other. You'd probably need a car for this accommodation although you'd need one anyway to fully appreciate Orkney. Key safe on entry with code sent by host. There is no welcome booklet which is definitely needed for things like how the air source heating and hot tub work or what the WiFi code is etc as well as local information & attractions. Some fairy lights or solar bulbs around the hot tub would be nice as it's pitch black out there at night apart from a main light that blinds you in there when on! There is no heating in the three bedrooms but when I asked the host he said the heating from the living area and bathroom is enough to heat house. I'd have to respectfully disagree as we were there in September and they were cold at night so imagine later in year they must get really chilly?
