Casa Huesos was simply magical. Whales jumping during the day, parrots on the tree branches, millions of stars are night. Wonderfully decorated and comfortable palapa. If you are looking for an off grid but accessible spot this is it! Jennifer was helpful in arranging the water taxi and got in a phone call with us to explain all the in’s and out’s of this unique location. Los Chonchos isn’t for everyone but if you’re an adventurous traveler who enjoys being off grid this is the place for you!

Spectacular, different, fantastic, nature, ocean- that is some of the words that came to our mind when staying at this place. Whales swimming by, stunning view from the big patio. The palapa was well equipped in kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. The sea was rough when we got there, but managed to got of the boat with help from locals and other residents. Host is very helpful and communicative. Beaches and nature is beautiful. Recommend to stay here.

WOW! This was an absolutely incredible stay - memorable and relaxing. This feels remote. There are no restaurants, bars, shops. Just gorgeous beaches and the new friends from other palapas. It's like going back in time to reading, playing cards and talking to pass time. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. It's by far the nicest of the homes we got to see while we were there. The shower was always hot, the fridge worked, lights turned on when we flicked the switch. Once we got chatting with others, we realized that all of these luxuries where not the case at all with the other palapas. For Chimo (45 min hike) bring plenty of cash. Nothing is cheap there. If you have to leave via Chimo, it's 500 pesos per donkey. It's 100 pesos per person for the 2 minute canoe to get from the shore to the speedboat. 3 lobster meals and a fish fillet (+4 waters) was $100 USD at the Sunset restaurant in Chimo. All said, can't wait to go back. Pick this place if you go. Worth it!

Awesome place! We had a great week enjoying nature. Tons of whales, dolphins, manta rays, lizards and even some turtle tracks on the beach. We have been to Los Chonchos before and stayed in a different palapa. This palapa was the nicest we have seen. Awesome design and very posh. Power to charge phones, reliable fridge, and hot water which makes living in the jungle a lot nicer. Ocean was quite rough but managed to swim a couple of days. Only minor recommendation would be to maybe have a guide provided in the palapa for how to get water, what to do with garbage, etc.. If we had not been to Los Chonchos before it would have been difficult to figure out as we rarely saw the boys Daniel or Josephat. Overall a really great stay and we’d be happy to go back in the future.
