I would strongly recommend you stay with Gary! Their place is wonderful and the views cannot be matched! I will say the drive can be a bit daunting if you are not used to mountain roads, but it’s so worth the peaceful views. Be sure to at least catch one sunrise and sunset on what I felt like was “The Top of the World). Gary was extremely friendly and communicated with us swiftly whenever we reached out. There are plenty of things to do in the area that are just a short drive away and Gary has a well laid out list of some of the best hiking spots! If we make a trip to Murphy again, we will not stay anywhere but here!
