Donna Rosa cottage is in the centre of Yetminster, a historic and picturesque village, situated on the River Wriggle and built almost entirely of honey coloured limestone.
The village itself is great for visitors wanting to take long country walks, chill and dine in country pubs and great for dog walks. For shorter walks of 30 minutes, a circuit around the village is lovely. For longer walks of 45mins to 1 hour plus, Vecklands Woods and surrounding fields and footpaths are worth a visit.
What will you find in the village?
The White Hart pub: only a 3 minute walk away from the cottage and very popular with visitors and locals alike (which is always a great sign!) Great drinks, food and service. Outside space at the front and beer garden at the rear. Very dog friendly and offers a lovely Sunday roast. Open Wednesday to Sunday, closed Monday and Tuesday.
Old School Cafe and Gallery: only 5 minute walk from the cottage. Great, cosy atmosphere, very spacious inside, dog friendly, popular with cyclists and walkers and the most amazing freshly baked cakes. Open seven days a week, 10am-4:30pm.
SPAR supermarket and post office open 7am-7pm Monday to Saturday, 9am-5pm Sundays. 5 minute walk from the cottage, offering a wide range of food essentials and off licence.
Yetminster station: a five minute walk from the cottage you will find the train station. Serviced by the Heart of Wessex Line, also known as the Bristol to Weymouth Line: a railway line that runs from Bristol Temple Meads to Westbury and Weymouth.
You will also find other lovely and useful things in the village including a children’s playground, sports field, car servicing garage and the 300 year old St Andrew’s Church.
Just outside of Yetminster, you can easily access all the pubs, shops, supermarkets and cinemas in Yeovil and Sherborne.
Further afield, Yetminster is a great base to access the Jurassic coast, with the closest beaches down at Weymouth and West Bay Bridport only a 35-40 drive away.

You can access Yetminster village easily from the A37, at the exit for Yetminster or from the A352 at the exit for Thornford and follow signs to Yetminster.
Yetminster is a 15 drive from Sherborne and Yeovil, with many beautiful villages along the way.
Parking is available at Donna Rosa cottage for two cars. Other cars can park easily and for free at the bottom of our driveway on High Street.
Yetminster train station is serviced by the Bristol to Weymouth line, that runs from Bristol Temple Meads to Westbury and Weymouth. Please note Yetminster station is a request stop, so you have to alert the driver if you wish the train to stop at the station.
