We had the most wonderful stay in Baslow. The flat was perfect with only a short 30 minute walk to Chatsworth house and buses to Bakewell too . The local Devonshire arms pub was perfect for Sunday roast, the Prince of Wales across the road was always busy so make sure to book in advance. Penny was attentive to us responding to any queries we had so promptly, we felt so well cared for. The flat has everything you would need and was so cosy and welcoming as soon as we walked in after a long journey. We are already planning a return to visit Chatsworth in the future and will definitely stay again!
Very comfortable apartment. Great location for visiting Chatsworth and exploring the Peak District.
We had a lovely New Year stay at Penny's place. The apartment is spacious, but also cosy and warm - perfect after long winter walks. The entrance provides good space to dry off wet coats and boots, whilst the apartment provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is also excellent, providing easy access to lots of local walking and some excellent pubs and restaurants.
As a relatively large village within the heart of the Peak District National Park, Baslow benefits from convenient local amenities, including a selection of good, local pubs serving food, restaurants, one of which is Michelin starred, a post office and a cafe.
As the first National Park, the Peak District offers country lovers everything, from dramatic moorland and limestone crags, to soft rolling hills and wooded valleys. Whether it be Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton’s many caves or riding the cable cars at The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, there is something for all ages. We are very lucky to be located within two miles to Monsal Trail where you can enjoy a long bike ride or walk.
Pretty unspoilt towns and villages are within easy reach, such as the popular market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell Pudding or the fascinating plague village of Eyam. The spa town of Buxton is a short drive with recently developed spa facilities and its fabulous opera house.
If walking is your passion, you couldn’t be in a better place with Baslow being surrounded by magnificent countryside and excellent walking routes in all directions.
There are some amazing events throughout the year in the Peak District and The Beeches are conveniently located so everything is never too far away.
Shop 2½ miles, pub 50 yards and restaurant ¾ miles.

We are a family of 5, 3 children aged 24, 22 and 11. I am married to Stephen and love to travel. Our old brown labrador called Bertie recently passed away and we have one of our huts named after him. We now have a new lab called Digby and our new hut is named after him. We also have a new addition, called Paddington and he is a Sprocker! I love to try new restaurants and spend time with friends. We renovated Brosterfield Farm about 12 years ago and we are always updating and hopefully creating wonderful places for our guests to come and stay and share this amazing part of the Peak District with us. We live at the farm in the farmhouse and apart from an odd holiday, We have small and amazing team that help look after the farm and our properties we manage. There is Hannah whom spent her childhood actually growing up at Brosterfield (before we lived here) and now is my trusted go to person that helps with everything to do with the farm.. Melissa and her amazing girls that make sure all our properties are kept to the highest standards and Andy that does all the grounds We are a small and dedicated team that love Brosterfield and are passionate about it and all the guests that stay.
