Beautiful place with amazing views, lovely hospitable host. We made a mistake and realised the place was listed as shared on arrival so we ended up leaving on the same day as we wanted to be in our own space as a family. Margaret's was so kind and understanding.

I had another nice stay at Margreta's place, overlooking Birch Bay. I definitely recommend her place if you want to get out of the city and enjoy the clean tranquil waters by the beach (that you can walk to from the house, if you so choose). I'd definitely recommend renting an inflatable paddleboard or the like if you're coming from the city, where the water may be dirty in late-summer. You can also occasionally drop by Bellingham for the food as well as the farmer's market (which has fresh organic produce of quality that you typically can't get in Vancouver).

If you stay at Margreta's place, you will love her cat. He is a cute little bugger. Her place is a nice homestay in a safe community that has its own little beach where you can drop your kayak in the water. The restaurants in nearby Birch Bay are decent, and Bellingham isn't 'far away if you want the usual city conveniences. But really, you'll be looking to stay because Birch Bay is a chill place to get away and slow down. There are lots of bunnies. And lots of nice beaches and tidal flats.

I usually like to stay in places where you have the place to yourself so I was apprehensive about sharing with the host. I found that I was pretty comfortable with Margreta. She is very personable and accommodating. We were there for family business and her local knowledge was so helpful. The view is amazing and the surrounding area is low key. You won’t be disappointed with this one.

Margreta's place is depicted well. It is a 3-floor home and shared space with her son living in a walk out basement and she has a room on the 3rd floor. The rooms are off the shared common space kitchen and living room area which is well-maintained and the views of the bay are excellent. The patio is lovely and sunny. Unfortunately, we had to leave early due to a family emergency so we did not get to meet Margreta in person. The area is fairly remote. It is about a half-hour drive to Bellingham. That being said, we left early and did not get to explore the local area in a way we would have had we remained the four days. The access to Vancouver should be excellent and an hour away. Margreta does have an indoor cat and one must take extra care to ensure the cat remains safely in the home. Margreta maintains a beautiful home with direct access and virtually no step up from the driveway and entry walkway. The neighborhood feels very safe and is gated as well.
