Outside of the two on site restaurants of Tamarron and Glacier Club, we recommend visiting Havaland Lake and enjoying fishing, horseback riding or a hike there. 7 miles up the road you will find Purgatory ski resort filled with summer and winter activities that include a roller coaster and an alpine slide to name just a couple. Please look these up. Across from the resort, we recommend horseback riding or taking the purgatory flats hike along with paddle board and kayak rental on a beautiful pond or to take to Havaland for larger area. There are a couple more restaurants up that way. Or make a day trip to Silverton or Ouray!
Down south from Tamarron, we recommend Honeyville, James Ranch, Mild to Wild, the Silverton Train, Elois restaurant, Grass Burger, Homeslice Pizza, Tremble Hotsprings, the river walk (look up multiple locations), the art shops and the ice cream on main st. There are zip lines and a ice skating rink Durango. We highly recommend hiking junction creek. There is an amazing children’s science museum and many musical events going on all the time. Parking is usually easy at Tamarron and there are few covered parking areas. It is free and you will be asked for your car info upon check in. No campers or trailers. First come first serve. There are carts in two main lobbies to haul your luggage.
