Right in the middle of Missouri's wine country, this fully renovated 1888 Schoolhouse lets you explore wineries in the area or just sit on the front porch and wave at the locals. Perfect for two or use the fold out couch for additional guests. Pinckney, Missouri was the county seat of Warren County. Danial Boone once sat on the porch of the County Judge right across the street. This quiet street was once the hub of activity due to the Missouri River, now it is a quiet retreat from the noise.
Polly and Randy were working in their garden that is adjacent to the home, popped over to make sure we had everything we needed and gave a few recommendations on local restaurants. They were very kind and pleasant to visit with. The porch furniture was so comfortable to enjoy the peace and quiet. Polly asked if they could set up a new swing on the porch while we were out so we came back to even better porch time. The swing was amazing. We didn’t need anything because we had all we needed in the little school house. The mattress and pillows were top notch and made for great sleeping. The kitchen had absolutely everything we could possibly need if I was in the cooking mood. The school house has been beautifully renovated with a couple reminders of its origins left behind, the perfect blend of modern convenience and history. We came to the area to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoy the Bacon and Wine Festival and we did just that! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.
Staying at the old school house for the weekend was a really nice peaceful stay! My brother and I really enjoyed learning about the history of the place that Polly provided as well! Overall, the school house was great and we hope on staying there again in the future! I highly recommend staying here if you’re thinking about it!
Incredibly peaceful. I haven't slept this well in forever. Great setup for my dogs with lots of walking space. The kitchen was perfectly set up. I love to cook and did a lot of it here. I brought my own large pot to make my dog food and a pot of soup. It was not necessary. Every pot and pan I needed was there. The front porch is amazing. I spent every morning on it with my dogs and a cup of coffee. It was some of the best "me" time ever. On the weekend, we hit a couple of local wineries. Over all, this place is top notch. We will come back.
right off Hwy 94, way out in the country, 4 miles from nearest bar and grill, 12 miles from grocery store, quiet, peaceful, few neighbors but they are all friendly. Close to the Katie Trail, free parking in Treloar. 19 miles from Hermann, Missouri wine country capital, 19 miles from Washington, Missouri and approximately 2 miles from the Missouri River. Four season retreat, renovated 3 years ago, new everything but kept chalk boards, ceilings, and wood lathes from the schoolhouse. Rockers on the porch, sun umbrella for shade.
A car is needed, I recommend bringing your groceries when you come. Full kitchen is ready for gourmet meals.
自我介绍
I consider myself a gentlewoman farmer. We live on 74 acres and work at organizing it in our spare time. Both my husband and myself are still working so the farm is a labor of love. Randy and I love to travel, we take RV vacations so that our two border collies can come with us. The folks who would love our home would love nature, love to walk and fish, take things down a notch and get away from the hubbub of the city. My motto is everything should be a bit better from our being there or at least the same, do no harm is our motto.
