If you want to disconnect and enjoy beautiful peaceful surroundings, this is the place to be. Also had an amazing time meeting new people! I would recommend this to anyone who’s in need of decompressing and loves to be surrounded by nature. One of the rarest gems we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Very remote, and “family” style meals that allow you to meet other guests from around the world. World class food blew our minds. Sloths + howler monkeys, and the most vibrant reef we’ve snorkeled. Many sand fleas that bother some more than others, bring bug spray and long clothing for dinners and you’ll get used to it. Worth every minute, every penny. Thank you, Melissa + team!
Wow! What a pristine reef to snorkel in and experience bioluminescent waters at night with a new moon. Food was great, loved the homemade desserts too! We saw sloths up close and many fish to include a small octopus. Loved the energy of our hosts, Melissa and Luciano and the volunteer, Largo. Appreciated the community aspect of the meals and met many interesting people from all over the World. We booked a weeks stay, and felt complete after 4 nights due to the remote location. Amazing opportunity for the glamper minded traveler. Truly a gem of a place with great hosts!
Truly magical experience. For me, highlights were swimming in bio luminscence, being guided to see tree frogs, and the abundance of marine life. Melisa and Luciano were friendly and enthusiastic hosts and the food and cocktails were outstanding.
Don’t think twice, this is the hidden gem you’re looking for ❤️! We adored staying with Melisa and Luciano . They were fabulous hosts. Definitely plan to eat all your meals there :). We loved swimming and snorkeling just off the pier- it’s incredibly beautiful. We enjoyed going on the jungle trek with Leo- it was a little more challenging than we anticipated! Of all the places we went in Panama, this is the place that stole my heart! Bring light weight long pants and a long sleeved shirt to ward off the noseeums.

We love exploring the world and its people, ideas, and minds. In 2002, while driving from California to Patagonia, Ulrich fell in love with Bocas del Toro and bought a semi-abandoned cattle farm on the shore of a remote tropical island. Together with locals, we planted thousands of trees, all native species, to help offset the CO2 emissions my travels have produced, to restore the degraded environment, and to give future generations access to the beautiful hardwood lumber that used to be plentiful in Bocas. Now that we have restored the land to a healthy, balanced ecosystem, together with some amazing friends, we set up a unique eco retreat, an experiment in combining the inspiring experience of raw nature and life in the tropics with amenities that make the place accessible for adventurous spirits who want to experience a different lifestyle, for days, weeks, or month.
