We had a lovely stay at Erica and Alex’s place. It was really cool to stay in a historic home in Mystic. We had everything we needed and they included many thoughtful touches. We had 2 little ones with us and it was very easy to manage them there. Mystic was bustling on the weekend so we were thrilled to be walking distance to downtown and not struggle with parking. The home is also super close to a delightful little deli/market. All in all, wish we could have stayed longer and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again:)
Erica was very responsive to my messages and was flexible with our timing as we were coming from out of town which we really appreciated! the house was beautifully decorated and we had fun, enough space for two families to all hang out. Kids books and games were also a bonus! and the coffee station was well thought-out and helpful to have all the stuff right there.
Erica and Alex’s historic home was stunning and full of charm. Right when we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome basket of goodies and a few birthday surprises for my son! The home was well equipped and beautiful. Lots of thoughtful touches in every room. The bedrooms were so comfortable and everyone had plenty of room. The kids loved the kids bedroom and cozy play hideout. The adults enjoyed the beautiful living and dining rooms and especially the sun filled coffee corner each morning. The home is so close to town, several of us chose to walk and take in the scenery. Erica and Alex were helpful with local recommendations and flexibility with checking in and out…truly gracious hosts. We had a wonderful weekend with family in a lovely setting!

We loved staying at Erica and Alex’s home. As described, there were lots of fun games and books for kids and an adorable play nook in one of the bedrooms. Plenty of space for 2 families to spread out and stay comfortably. The location was convenient to downtown Mystic. The hosts provided plenty of information prior to check in and during our stay. We’d love to come back in nicer weather!

Hello! Our names are Erica and Alex and we're very excited to host you at the Maxson House. We have two young children that keep us busy and fill our home with joy. Erica grew up in Florida and attended Florida State University, while Alex grew up in Rhode Island and attended MIT in Boston. After Alex spent over ten years as a Naval Aviator flying helicopters for the Navy, we decided it was time to put down our family roots back in New England, close to family. We enjoy the outdoors, trying new foods/restaurants, and traveling. Our love for historic places and travel really helped foster our dream of starting our own rental property. We knew we wanted a place that felt very special and helped guests feel like they were being given an experience, not just a place to sleep. As soon as we walked into the Maxson House we knew it was perfect and fell in love with it immediately! We feel that the history of the home itself and its location in the historic ship-building community of Mystic makes the Maxson House a perfect getaway for any history-loving traveler.
