Our stay at the Sandpipers from Beach Retreats was idyllic. we know the area well and love Port Isaac. The house was just perfect overlooking the entrance to the bay. W enjoyed the experience of staying there and hope to repeat it soon.
Port Issac has only one shop and one 'proper' pub. I loved it but it was too quiet for some in the group. We had an expensive but disappointing meal at The Mote, but very decent fish and chips from Pengelly. Access to the property is very steep! The property itself is delightful and beautifully furnished. It was difficult to dry the sumptuous towels as there were no door hooks or towel rails. We made good use of the BBQ but it felt a shame to eat outdoors when the view is so amazing from indoors. It was helpful to have guide books and maps to browse. Responses from the managing company were slow compared to all my previous Airbnb experiences, but they were helpful when they came. In short, it's a really beautiful property in a quiet location, perfect for walkers and those happy to use as a base for exploring further afield by car.
Port Isaac is a picturesque Cornish village, with boutique shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and a working harbour. Experience fine dining at Nathan Outlaw's restaurant or seafood tapas at Outlaw's Fish Kitchen. The harbour is always bustling with activity and is renowned for its appearance in the TV series Doc Martin.
The south west coastal path is accessible from the village. Walk north to Port Gaverne or follow the path south to Port Quin. Port Isaac is within easy driving distance of Padstow, Rock, Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand and Tintagel.
