I really enjoyed everything about this space. Kathy's place was spacious, clean, inviting and convenient to all the hiking and touring of the surrounding areas that I had planned. The area is peaceful and the star-gazing at night was fantastic due to the remote location. The space was much bigger than I had expected from the photos. I mistakenly assumed some of the photos were taken from each end of the same room but, nope, they are all separate spaces. You enter from a door in the back of the house and take an open stairway down to the lower level. The bathroom was very clean and the tile work absolutely lovely. The bed was comfortable and cozy. All the necessary amenities were provided in the bathroom & kitchen. I was especially pleased with the electric tea kettle for my morning tea and microwave for reheating food. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus after being on the road for a couple weeks. This is a great space and location. I would definitely return when I am in the area.

Peaceful and serene. Great location. Close to town, hiking, biking and an easy drive to Cortez and Durango. Central to some nice mountains and a handful of amazing road trips (Telluride/Silverton). Kathy is very friendly, helpful and responsive.

I stayed six nights at Kathy's horse farm and it was super cool! The place is in the countryside where it's really peaceful. You get to see horses and wild deer every day. The apartment is big and comfy. It's got a lot of wood stuff that makes it feel really homey. It's so nice to wake up and just hear nature sounds. The farm is near some great paths for hiking and biking. And the whole place is really safe. Kathy is a great host and she loves her farm a lot. If you're looking for a chill place or a spot for outdoor fun, Kathy's horse farm is perfect. I'm really excited to go back!

Overall I can't say enough positive things about Kathy's place, it was very comfortable, incredibly clean, and well stocked (plenty of towels, linens, washer/dryer for laundry, kitchen supplies etc). Kathy was very kind during in our few interactions, and she was amazingly quiet in her home above us. That said, the only challenge was a misunderstanding of how the suite was laid out.There is no door that separates the private basement suite from the rest of the house. You walk in the back door, you're on an open landing. One side leads up to the owners suite (separated by a curtain), the other side leads down to the open den, then into the laundry area that branches into the rest of the suite. I just wish it had been more direct in the listing, as it's listed as "having the entire place" yet feels more like a shared space due to the lack of privacy not having a door to the suite creates.
