Casey was fantastic and the listing was just as advertised! The treehouse was incredibly peaceful, private, and surrounded by beauty. The temperature inside the treehouse stayed surprisingly stable considering its location and construction. I only had small reasons for giving a 4 versus a 5. The bed and the pillows in my partner and I's opinion was not that comfortable, and while the loft is a cute idea, it obviously is not the most practical. The treehouse itself is VERY small, especially for two people. Lastly, as warned on the listing, the drive is definitely not the easiest, especially at night. For those reasons, I would not stay here again. But, for certain people, I think it would be perfect. It is an absolutely beautiful location.
I found the treehouse absolutely perfect for my annual solo time in the woods. Casey was a gracious, helpful and respectful host. The landscape was serene and the sweet house was environmentally conscious in all the right ways. I loved writing in my journal and witnessing the day from the back porch. It was perfect!
If you are interested in being semi-remote in a rustic setting, this place will fit your needs. The cabin is as described. You will need to drive up a very steep dirt road and walk down a steep path to the cabin. It has no WIFI and limited cell service. The kitchen is very basic and the bathroom has a composting toilet. The loft was cozy, but the ladder was a bit of a hassle when and if you need to get up in the night. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in the Fall so it wasn’t too hot in the loft, but I can imagine that in the summer it may be stuffy. There were a few fans available for use. We booked this place last minute because we had a necessity to stay in Durango a few extra days. I probably would not have chosen it as my first choice. I felt that for the price of $165/night (not including taxes and fees) that it could have used a few more amenities, especially compared to some other places that we have stayed in the area for the same price. It was very quiet and peaceful.
Mark and I spent a few days at the treehouse – and it was not enough time. We could have used a couple more days – it was so beautiful and filled our souls. It gave us the remote, quiet, beautiful time to connect to nature and yet was close enough to the city and surrounding area to hike, . shop, eat out, hot spring, etc. Casey was incredibly responsive, which is so helpful when you are renting an Airbnb. We found the ladder to the bedroom fun and different – and easy to maneuver. Casey made it very easy for us to have an amazing experience. We would highly recommend staying at the treehouse – for the perfect blend of city, and remote connection to nature
Outstanding. Adorable cabin--exactly as described. Lovely views and peaceful nature sounds 24/7. Tons of windows, which not only showcased the forest's beauty but also helped cool the cabin down at night. Spent most of our stay enjoying the back balcony or cozy in the loft. Casey provided excellent instructions and promptly answered our additional questions. Really appreciate his thoughtful design of the space, such as the motion dection nightlights by the parking space. One thing to note for light sleepers: even if you turn off the toilet, there's a periodic groaning seemingly coming from the water tank below the cabin bathroom. Not a big deal, it was low volume enough to sleep through, but just an FYI. Overall, 10/10 stay.
