Positives: The location was perfect for us. The neighbourhood was very peaceful, and there was a lovely little wood a short walk away which we enjoyed exploring - ideal if you have a dog. Parking was easy (although the host had left one car on the drive), with a good selection of shops and cafes nearby. The house is essentially an 'old-style' AirBnb - Bernie's furnished home rather than a holiday let, complete with a fully stocked kitchen and clothes in the cupboards. As such it is well equiped and was spacious and warm. Our contact was Bernie's son Tom, who was responsive and helpfully agreed to a late check-out. Negatives Responses to my initial enquiries about cot/highchair were slow (there aren't any). The garden was overgrown, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and I found an uneaten meal in the warming drawer! Instructions were minimal. Bedding/mattresses were not of a high standard. Adequate for our needs, comfortable but a bit shabby and in need of some TLC!
