The Hollows is a recently renovated, luxurious 19th century cottage with a tastefully modern interior, garden and hot tub. Set in the beautifully idillic Scottish Borders, the cottage boasts fantastic fishing on the River Esk only a five minute walk away. The impressive home of Clan Armstrong is visible from the front bedroom and accommodates a museum, guided tour and cafe. The Cottage is centred around an extremely unique living room with a spacious coombed ceiling. The bedrooms consist of one king sized bed and one double bed and are accessible directly from the living room. Above the bedrooms sits a quirky mezzanine floor with ladder access. The kitchen boasts plenty of storage space and has an induction hob and dishwasher. A utility room at the back door has a washing machine and tumble drier. The modern garden has an L-shaped sofa with table for outside dining and is accompanied by a two-person hot tub. Guests also have access to a Weber charcoal barbecue and fire pit.

My stay wasn't totally for leisure so the cottage was a cosy sanctuary after some challenging days. I even used the hot tub in the pouring rain to ease the aches and pains. I had the best sleep in the comfortable bed and sumptuous bedding. The area is one I know well and love dearly. Will certainly stay again when I'm next up.

We had a lovely stay for a few nights. The cottage is less than 15 mins from Gretna Green and the M6, which made it perfect for meeting up with my friend. The cottage was super cosy, so perfect for a winter break. The mad dash from the hot tub to the cottage in the cold was exhilarating and great fun - note to self - remember to take a robe and outdoor slippers next time! Despite being quite close to the A7 it didn’t bother us at all, and we slept like logs. We did some super walks around the area with the dogs. If you happen to be staying the first Saturday in the month, there is a lovely artisanal market on in Langholm, where you can get all sorts including some rather fabulous cheese. Hope to be back again - thanks Fergus.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at this accommodation with our dog. The house is finished beautifully and was perfect for our long weekend stay: the fire was great for warming up after dog walks, the hot tub was excellent and the bed was super comfortable for some great sleeps. A really good base for getting out and exploring the surrounding countryside!

Only a 5 minute walk from the front door is The Clan Armstrong Centre. The 16th century tower has an exceptional amount of local significance, as well as having a museum, cafe and guided tours.
The cottage is a short 25 minute walk to a pub and restaurant in the rural village of Canonbie that also has a post office and tennis courts.
A 5 minute drive to the nearest town of Langholm gives the opportunity for loads of great walks and exploring local history.
