Hello guests, My sister (Yorqui) and I are pretty easy-going, fun hosts. We love eating out, and spending time with our family. I work as a freelancer drafting and surveying and Yorqui does a variety of things. We both have lived in New York most of our lives, but our roots are in the Dominican Republic. We travel often there and really enjoy both American and Dominican cultures very very much. We care that you are informed, and that you are comfortable because that’s how we would like to be treated. Marcia & Yorqui FYI: a little about the bronx, NYC has gone through a lot of changes the last 15 years or more. crime is pretty low, and it is a safe city. like any city in the world there are safer neighborhoods than others. The bronx is a pretty big borough, part of 5 that make up NYC. So a lot of guests ask about safety in the bronx. I have never had a problem living here, particularly in this area. I suppose the bronx, as well as the whole city had a period of high crime. But as of now it's pretty safe. I walk around at night very confidently, there is always security around and the neighbors are friendly - for new york, lol. Some fun facts about The Bronx: Notable Bronxites: Edgar Allan Poe, Calvin Klein, John F. Kennedy, Colin Powell, Fiorello H. LaGuardia, Mark Twain and many more (source Bronx Historical Society) The Bronx is also home to: The Yankee Stadium, The New York Botanical Garden, The Bronx Zoo, Orchard Beach, Pelham Park (largest park in NYC), Arthur Avenue (Little Italy in the Bronx), Fordham University among other sites. anyhow, just thought I'd add this to our profile, in case you have any questions or doubts about the area.
