Enjoy this centrally-located and newly-designed fresh and modern studio in adorable downtown Ferndale. Ferndale’s shops and restaurants are literally just steps away from the Side Street Studio! The Side Street Studio is in the heart of downtown Ferndale and is a cozy studio with a good sized bathroom with a shower. This building was recently renovated, where we created this new studio from an old garage/workshop/stable of an original Ferndale home built in 1887. It’s a very cozy, fresh, modern space, in a historic building and neighborhood. Wonderful as a home base for exploring the area, and it is also a great space to work from. The studio has Wi-Fi and a smart TV. We have on-demand hot water and good heating. It has a brand new comfortable double bed, and a large closet to store lots of luggage. Enjoy coffee from the Keurig coffeemaker in the morning. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a grocery store, butcher, and liquor store just down Main Street if you’d like to stay in and cook, or head out to the great local cafes and restaurants just a few steps away.

Stayed here a few times already. Such a great place and location is top notch. This is my go to place yeh coming to Ferndale.
I spent a few relaxing days at Kathleen’s Studio in Ferndale with my Beagle—seeking a quiet getaway. I did have to modify my travel plans last minute, however Kathleen was always quick to respond and flexible. The Studio is exactly as described right off of Main Street. It’s perfect for 1-2 guests and a small pet. Check in was a snap and I was able to park right outside the front door the entire time. The Studio was very clean and well appointed for doing some work and cooking. Internet was stable to support my work for two days and some streaming. This is a great alternative if traveling with small pets and I’ll definitely stay here again if available!

The perfect place to be for roaming around town. It’s super cute and equipped with everything you need. She went the extra mile to make sure my pup had a great stay too. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

The Side Street Studio is just two doors down from Main Street in the heart of adorable Victorian Ferndale. There are houses on either side of the Studio. The studio opens onto the sidewalk, and there is no outdoor space or yard for guests’ use.
The studio is just a couple of doors away from the Catholic Church and steps away from all the great restaurants, shops, and the Post Office in downtown Ferndale. This is one of the most centrally located places you can stay in town!
There is almost always parking right outside the Studio door. Once you are parked, you will be able to access all of Ferndale by foot.

I am a retired elementary school teacher, and my husband, Dennis, is a third generation dairy farmer. We live on our organic dairy farm in Ferndale in Northern California. We love our dogs, being involved in our community, and bringing new life to historic homes in our area. We have put a lot of love into making the Francis Creek Retreat, the Ferndale Creekside Cottage, and the Side Street Studio beautiful and special places to stay. We hope you enjoy visiting Ferndale and love it as much as we do!
