We can’t praise this family enough. Jose and his parents Victor and Anabel, who are closer to us in age, went above and beyond to welcome us. Victor showed us his fruit, coconut and almond trees, speaking through a translation app. He even cut down a coconut so we could try the milk even though it’s a month too soon for harvest. The accommodation, which is very reasonably priced, is new, spacious and well-appointed with hot water throughout plus high-speed wifi and smart tv. It’s set next to a tumbling stream which is cooling and relaxing to hear. It’s 10 minutes’ drive to amenities in Atenas. We took it for our whole time in Costa Rica as a base from which we made side trips; we felt completely confident that the belongings we left behind were safe. Their Chihuahua takes guard duty very seriously! We enjoyed identifying birds such as toucans, Inca doves, Cabanis wrens, vultures and others, spotted several iguanas, geckos and ground squirrels. A great place, and great people!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez José Pablo. Le logement est moderne, lumineux et plaisant. L'hôte et ses parents, qui habitent juste à côté, sont chaleureux et accueillants. Ils ont été toujours très serviables, disponibles et réactifs. Nous avons ressenti une ambiance familiale et bienveillante. C'est un logement que nous pouvons recommander avec plaisir.

Estamos muy complacidos con el hospedaje que nos brindó José Pablo! Las fotos son una imagen exacta de lo que vas a encontrar cuando llegas al lugar! Esta muy bien equipada, cocina, refri, microondas. El deck que está afuera es Perfecto para ver el amanecer o estar en la noche viendo las estrellas! Fuimos a pasar el Año Nuevo y la verdad estuvo súper bien, hacía un poco de calor propio de Atenas pero las noches estaban espectaculares! Sería excelente tener una piscina para el calor mañanero!

Jose’s place was very clean and the area was peaceful and enjoyable. The rivers sound good in the mornings and evenings while hanging out in the back patio. Will definitely visit again.

This is such a great Airbnb run by a great family. I put my money where my mouth is on this one. I said I'd return to this Airbnb and when another stay was canceled at the last minute I did just that. The host was great about communicating and working with me to make this all happen. Again, I highly recommend and I'd return again!
