Take a break and unwind at the Salt Pond Cottage. For those looking for a quiet setting, surrounded by nature this home is for you! The property borders the Virgin Islands National Park and is walking distance to Salt Pond Beach, Kiddle Beach, Grootpan Beach, as well as, Ram Head, Drunk Bay, and Tektite hiking trails. The property also has an OUTDOOR FITNESS AREA! The home sits on a half acre of fenced in terraced yard. Our 400 square foot cottage occupies the lower level of the main house. It is newly built (2019) with masonry/stone walls and tiled floor. There’s plenty of natural light and fresh air from the front screen door, back sliding door, and two sets of large windows. Close the blackout curtains and stretch out in a king size bed for a restful night's sleep. If you need to work, there is a designated office space and high speed Wifi. There's a private covered patio off the living/bedroom with a dining table and grill area. Access to the bathroom is from the outdoor patio. The space is newly decorated, has a full kitchen, Nespresso coffee machine, NutriBullet, washer/dryer and is air conditioned! We aim to provide our guests with all the amenities needed for an easy, relaxing vacation! --Bathroom has towels, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer. --Bedroom has hotel collection bedding, extra pillows and blanket. --Kitchen has Nespresso coffee pods, olive oil, salt, pepper and basic spices. --Living room has a smart TV, library, scrabble, dominos, dice, cribbage and cards. --Beach closet has beach towels, chairs, umbrella, coolers and snorkel gear. --Laundry detergent, dish soap, counter spray, and paper towels are also provided.

We loved this place! Clean, spacious, well-appointed, quiet. Best of all, we could walk to the beach (every day!) We did have trouble finding it at first--only because we trusted Google maps instead of following Jill's directions! But we got Jill on the phone right away and she straightened us out right away. The only other problem was the occasional power outage, but that was hardly Jill's fault. And she was very helpful the first time it happened, letting us know where there were flashlights at hand. Always responsive and helpful. We would be delighted to come again.
We loved staying at Jill & Jason’s. It was private, quiet and full of nature and beautiful surroundings. We loved exploring the island everyday and looked forward to coming back at the end of the day to rest. Highly recommend staying here!
My husband and I had a great stay at Jill's place. It was exactly how we imagined. Gorgeous property in a very secluded area. We had everything we needed. Thanks Jill for having us and for being very accommodating and responsive. It was perfect!
We had a great stay. Jill was very communicative and helpful, the location is quiet and private but very convenient to access Salt Pond Beach, Ram's Head, and Lameshur Beach. The bed was very comfortable, the space clean and modern, and it was an excellent home base for a week long exploration of the island. I would highly recommend a day trip with Island Roots boat charters (owned by Jill + her husband), we had a great day with them as well. We would absolutely stay there again.
Jill's place is great! Easy walking distance to Salt Pond beach and trails to take you all over the southern end of St. John. Kitchen was extremely well stocked and everything felt new. Great snorkel gear, bags and coolers available for use. Would go back in a heart beat!

Our home is located in the Mandahl neighborhood near Salt Pond Beach. It is a small, quiet, all residential neighborhood filled mostly with homes belonging to native Virgin Islanders or long-time residents, not vacation villas.
We STRONGLY encouraged a car rental when staying at our home. Our home is on the less developed Coral Bay side of the island and you will need transportation to access groceries, shopping and restaurants. Taxi's will rarely (if ever) drive out to Salt Pond.
That said, the VITRAN bus (public transportation) has a stop 5 minutes away from our house. The public bus runs approximately every 2 hours between Salt Pond and Cruz Bay on weekdays. Should you decided to rely on the VITRAN please check the schedule prior to arriving as it can vary.
