法兰克福(Frankfort) · 整套民居 · 2室3床2.0卫 · 可住3人 · Bourbon Barracks
This unique and historical building that used to be Civil War era barracks, has been tastefully remodeled with flare, and is ready to host your Frankfort visit! It is centrally located in the South Frankfort district, across from the new state capital and a short distance from our cute downtown. Those that are visiting for Bourbon tours will find Buffalo Trace only about 2 miles up the road. Our little town is friendly, quaint and ready for your visit!
We enjoyed our stay in the historic barracks. My friend and I were attending the PGA championship outside of Louisville and found this to be one of the better options. First off this place was clean and perfect for hanging with friends over a weekend. It was spacious and had a nice living room area for hanging out. The town itself was quiet with good access to the bourbon trail and was close enough to Lexington for restaurants. Overall we were very satisfied with the barracks. Taylor was a great responsive host and would rent from him again. Overall a 5 star experience.
Exactly as described, great walking location, excellent communication and host. Would definitely stay again!
Us Three military vets (vet, retired, and active) used this as a home base for a bourbon tour. It was close to many distilleries and provided a quiet, comfortable place to relax in the evening. Everything was meticulously taken care of and very nice. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was great - wonderful shower. It was physically very comfortable. The actual structure of the house was a bit awkward in that the 3rd floor (yes, roomy!) bedroom had no bathroom access in the night and the steps are a bit steep (old building, of course). So 2 guests slept in the downstairs bedroom and one slept on the very comfortable couch on the middle floor. It was a good stay, for sure.
South Frankfort is the quintessential cozy, comfortable residential and historical downtown area. The homes are old/original dwellings that have been remodeled, and well loved. Our State of Kentucky capital is located in the heart of the downtown residential area, and is the perfect spot for daily walks and sight seeing. Our downtown is filled with amazing shops where travelers can find local artistry wares and gifts, as well as multiple restaurants, bars and pubs, for catching meals and, of course, a glass of Kentucky bourbon.
Downtown Frankfort also has two history museums, multiple art murals and many historical landmarks with markers for those that like to walk around and read (walking history tours are available). The majestic Kentucky River flows right through downtown and offers river tours starting in spring, as well as kayak tours and launch ramps. You really could spend at least a week here and never leave Frankfort, filling your calendar with things to see and do...and friendly locals would love to have you do so!
With everything being so close in the downtown area, many visitors like to walk (depending on the season). There are multiple city bus stops throughout Frankfort, as well as a downtown trolley that during some seasons, is free (check the "Visit Frankfort" website for all tourist info, including a calendar of events and trolley schedule). Uber is not very prevalent here, so I would not depend on or plan for using it to get around. There are bourbon tour companies that you can book transportation through. A quick internet search will give you many to choose from.
